  1. Hello Max, What percentage of films, theater, literature or music stand up to the "hundred year test'? A handful of films a year is a generous estimate IMHO. I have an over 2000 DVD library and I don't know if I have 50 that would qualify for a 100 years of relevance. Cheers, Marc
  2. That makes sense. Thank you for replying. I'm working on my own version
  3. Was there an "unsqueeze" anamorphic slide projector lens to view the images? Did the Iscorama attach to your slide projector lens? I can't imagine a lab printing anamorphic "paper" prints, but I guess it wouldn't be that hard if you wanted to. The whole anamorphic still thing doesn't make sense to me. If you want a different aspect ratio in stills you use a different format camera Cheers, Marc
  4. "The Notorious Bettie Page" filmed by Mott Hupfel who also did "The American Astronaut".
  5. "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" was on TCM last night.
  6. How do you print or digitize the Iscorama images to view them when you use it on a Nikon? I have seen scope projection, or combo camera lenses before but I didn't know how to get prints without a digital unsqueeze. Cheers, Marc
  7. You got that right!!!! "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" was made for less than 1% of the budget of Grindhouse. "Grindhouse" was a cool idea, and I love the concept but they broke Hitchcock's rule: "The length of a film should be directly related to the endurance of the human bladder" I can't imagine what the 127 minute version of "Death Proof" is filled with. The DVD releases are coming up. We will see how many versions are put out. My favorite parts of "Grindhouse" was the fake trailers.
  8. If you want to shoot "scope" stills check out the Hasselblad Xpan system or the Fuji version of the same. They are pricey but they use a 24 x 65mm negative format. They aren't SLRs but rangefinders. Or buy a cheap 6x6 TLR and crop.
  9. I have a Sony dxc-1200 Trinicon camera that still works.
  10. David Lynch's Eraserhead is up there in my collection. It is a film that EVERY first time viewer has a deep "gut" reaction to.
  11. Hello Paul, This probably belongs in the off-topic area but............... My Home Theater has 80 amps of 120v for audio and 20 amps of 120v for the two projectors. 50 amps of 220v take care of the HVAC. If you are doing a clean new wire of your room you may want to look at a commercial UPS system for cleaner power and back up. They can be picked up refurbished at bargain prices. Cheers, Marc
  12. I'm pretty sure it was taped in PAL. I wish it would be released on DVD at some time.
  13. The Live Director's commentary is filmed live in a bar in Brooklyn. It was fairly interactive with the audience. When you watch again pay attention to professor Hess sitting in the bar on Ceres give basic background info and explain the story about to unfold. I''m happy to hear someone else enjoyed the film. Going old school Tod Browning's "Freaks" rules.
  14. Cory McAbee's The American Astronaut The American Astronaut
  15. I Watched Tron on the day it opened and then watched Blade Runner back to back on a rainy day. Yes I paid for both films. LOL
  16. Hello David, Episode two looked great. There was more interesting camera movement in this episode than in the entire first season. I really liked the lighting during the conversation Barb and Nicki had on the edge of the pool. The light reflected towards Chloe Sevigny's face was awesome. Looking forward to tonight's episode! Cheers, Marc

  18. Here is a basic article on equine gait analysis: http://cvm.msu.edu/Dressage/Upload/Clayton.../USDF_Dec01.pdf
  19. Hello Nathan, Try http://www.mcmaster.com/ and search tires. You didn't mention the axle / hub diameter. BTW I still have alll that lens support stuff if you can use it. Good luck!! Cheers, Marc
  20. There are certain models of the Som Berthiot 17-85mm dog leg lenses that are designed for Bolex H16 cameras. The issue is the orientation of the viewfinder both optically and physically. I have one that fits right on a Bolex but won't fit on a Filmo or any Auricon models. The model I have has a double 45 degree dogleg and it interferes with every camera I have tried except the Bolex. On the other cameras the viewfinder doesn't clear the operators left side of the camera. If it will fit in a different orientation on the camera body, the viewfinder frame will not line up correctly. The lens I have is virtually new in the box with instructions specific to the Bolex H16 and it states a lens seat/plane of 17.52 mm. Cheers, Marc
  21. In the US almost all homes have single phase power. For my machine shop tools I need to generate the third leg. Cheers, Marc
  22. To the best of my knowledge in the US if you split a single phase 220/240volt dryer or kitchen circuit you can only pull the original current available from the combination of each leg. The neutral wiring in the house will not be large enough to handle twice the current if you split it as you describe. Or I could be wrong. Cheers, Marc
