Thanks will I been I love wide angles, and I know if the distorted, they will put to use for an especial porpuse I just want to see some footage done with the Peleng, I talk to alot of people and they have told me , that yes is a cheap lens but is a great lens for S16 for the price... anyhow Thanks

Hey guys long time no see I just bought an Eclair NPR, ( thanks Alain) and in the moment is at Les Bosher shop, getting converted to S16 and all the works. I want to get a nice wide angle with a pl mount, and the Peleng 8mm came to mind, cheap and reliable. I want it to know your opinions and if you had shoot with lens it will be loveley if you can share some of the footage BEst

there Scott the only thing I know is that the Eclair Acl has a c mount and you can either buy adaptors for 35mm lenses or you just put a nice Angeniuex zoom on it. Oh one more thing... in this forum you have to you use your real name , you can't you a nickname, so I bet if you change you display name people will respond more

I agree with Jan The short had some quality, it was a good student film, but that's it I like the story but it felt kind of cliche to some point I knew that one of the contestants was going to die for the photography.... The exposure and light was right, some shots I was impress, some other ones I was dissapointed, they where to flat..... where I think It could off been stronger overall= good job you are on the way!..... feel free to take more risks, to go outside the box.... for a short that was set in Russia I felt that some German expressionism or some Einsestien shots where make some right justice to the story also.... what i will suggest is to do some research on the era and try to break some boundaries with that good job

Wow that's the only difference? I thought that the 358 can't read the shutter angle with the cine speeds?

Hey Kenny I have one of those... ( sekonic 358) and I'm getting an Eclair NPR soon I will be using the variable speed shutter.... is the meter still good for that or should I get an 558? Best

You can't sync the dialogue... you can shoot it and do a different effect.... but that's about it save that money... buy an eclair ACL, cheaper more reliable and you can shoot all teh sync dialogue you want , also 200' to 400, plenty of people do conversions of that cam, to S16, Pl mount and so on... Please do us all a favor and don't waste your money Best

Dear Jim This is going to be the first time that I speak about Red I feel skepticism is natural when someone is trying to create something out of the blue. I think the Digital vs film thing is over rated so much, is so annoying, both ends should just shut up and understand that we( the people) shouldn't put barriers to our imagination. That said, Jim I respect you as an inventor from trying something new and not settle for what we have. Yes, you probably knew that you where going to have skeptics running around in a world where people don't believe anymore, don't create, don't experiment, don't let their Ideas flow and go crazy. Keep it up, I use woth formats and I love both, even on these day and age I'm buying my first Super 16 camera to make a feature, but as an upcoming director I will love to "try" ( key word in these industry) your camera once is out Best

The most important thing, is that as a director you know EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT! you can have a 20 person crew, and suck big time if you don't have a clear goal... Make sure that your plans make everything clear to tell your story.... down the line is the most important ------------------------------- David you are a true man.....
