Found a spool https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-16mm-Cine-Kodak-Metal-Take-Up-Reel-50-Foot-With-Box-NOS/362259316654?hash=item5458567fae:g:YcIAAOSwnq5ZzUSu

They have a round hole on one side and come in a can. I have 4, more than enough doing what I do. They are very convenient to develop in a Lomo UPB 1-A tank. And 50 feet fits with wiggle room on the Russian drying rack. They are much easier to reload than 50 foot magazines.

Did a search in eBay on Cine Kodak film and found lots of 50foot spool boxes of film.
-
Mine is the Cine Kodak Model BB Junior. Lots of old film was bought off eBay to get cans and 50 foot daylight spools to reload. Film from Foma and ORWO have 2R new to use. Plus-X 50 foot magazines have double perf film in them and it develops nicely.

I print I project movies

Reversal first developed grains are rougher than the second developed ones. Anyway, double X is made to print onto higher contrast stock to make the positives.

How many times can you replenish?
Michael Carter replied to Michael Carter's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
When replenisher equals original volume then dump it all out. That answer from, https://www.facebook.com/groups/1833878160190581/?ref=bookmarks -

Fomapan R regular 8 is how I began developing movie film. Their kit was used first then LQR. I used un54 also. Not in 16mm though. I want print stock but have not tried to get any yet. -
How many times can you replenish?
Michael Carter replied to Michael Carter's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
Yuk! The first developer turned brown after one use, then darker after the second. No replenisher had been used. -
D-94 has been mixed and used successfully on 16mm 7266, once, then re-used over again, but with some added time. It worked. Replenisher could have been used instead of adding time. But how many times? How often can a batch of developer be reused? Thanks.

Hand-processing times for Plus X in D19
Michael Carter replied to JayneAmaraRoss's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
D-19 was going to be used but it had gone bad in less than one month and had to be dumped, hence the switch to Fomadon LQR. it is a liquid and used as needed and not saved. D19 is a powder and all mixed at one time. -
Hand-processing times for Plus X in D19
Michael Carter replied to JayneAmaraRoss's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
This film test was made using Plus X REVERSAL, which expired in 1968. It is 16mm 50 foot magazine film put into a Cine Kodak Model BB Juniour camera on a spool. The Juniour is told to have a shutter speed of 1/30 of a second. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9knAHCfL08I Fomadon LQR developer was used 1:10 at 9 min and 68 degrees F both first and second development Bright sunlight was 320 foot candles. F 5.6-8 look good projected. F11 was too dark. F2.8 & 4 were too light. Asa is 6 or 3 depending on what you like. -
I am learning more about this. The ground glass is inside the camera body, not in the viewfinder. Both could be replaced.
-
Is not the replacement viewfinder sold as is and you screw it on yourself? I believe that is one of the options. Not the option to rebuild an existing viewfinder.
-
I think a H8 has to be converted to double super 8mm to get the viewfinder upgrade.
-
How good is a late model Rex 5 13x viewfinder? Would it benefit from Laser treatment? How do you like yours? I am thinking of getting a Rex but I need the brightest optics. Is the JK replacement of 10x to 13x as good as the late 13x? Does a JK need laser work? Michael Carter

All I can relate is that I had some very old plus-X negative that I reversed perfectly. I always start with a bracketed exposure strip that I develop in a way that worked on another film and go from there.
-
I just finished tests of developing Kodak 7222 negative film using D-76. ORWO is supposed to be very much like it. D-19 I use on the reversal 7266. I have some ORWO film but haven't gotten to it yet.
