  1. I like! Good job. Couple of noisy shots were distracting. I don't like noise unless a must have for historical purposes. Homeless gal looks a little blue. But close enuf I guess. I do mainly candid street work, so things are always off. For me getting 70% is good. But for set up / staged /studio work, it won't fly. Sound is very good. Thought my doorbell rang! Next time put some nudity in it, makes more interesting. Was title Casa? Why titles so small? What was cost? Time to get it done? Send in more films when done. Good luck!
  2. BMPCC4x...I've never used one, but would like one.
  3. How did it work out for drumming up biz or for advertising?

  9. OK, on a big film you have the director, DP and cameraman, but who else eyes and critiques the framing before the shoot?
  10. This is a discussion forum. Better to have open discussion. May help out others and not just one. And it is better for archival purposes.

  12. Goes way back to the beginning and lot of interesting stories from the street. Talks about current projects and how he dislikes digital as it is too good. https://archive.org/search.php?query=bruce davidson teoli Only thing disappointing is how he favors permission shots over candid work. But I do not have much talent at permission shooting and excel at candid work, so that is my own prejudice.
  13. Well I am. And good reminder! But good to have the right words when talking to people. I am old film photog (still photos) from the 70's. Evetime I hear 'film' it throws me back to the early days.

  15. I'd say go the direct route. Train in cinematography. But if you already have an in as a gaffer well you got a foot in the door, go from there. I don't work in the biz. I do underground and experimental work. So there are no rules...only question is...is it legal.

  17. Or does it not matter if film or digital was used for making it? I ask for my own interest. When I solicit institutions to place my films should I be calling them videos and not films if they are all digital camerawork? But nowadays most film is digitized for online or digital projection. So should there be any name differentiation between the two methods? 100% digital cinematographers are called filmmakers, so I'd say calling a video a film is OK. Thanks
  18. Thanks. I like DVD's. They are a step closer to film than a HDD can offer. (Not in film look, but with archival ability.)
  19. I made a 6+ hour film ('Offshoots') that was too big to deal with. I decided to speed it up to greatly reduce playtime and was looking for the sweet spot. Here is a test film ('Time Studies') I made to see the range of playback speeds that I could use. 'Time Studies' covers regular speed up to 1000% faster in increments of 100%. The test sample I used was pulled from 'Disciples of Androgyne' which is part 6 of 'Genderqueer'...a 65min film I made on the gender busting revolution. ( I will distribute 'Genderqueer' in a fast speed option as well as normal speed.) These films are made under the auspices of 'fair use' for non-commercial, educational, editorial and historical purposes.
  20. Thanks Tyler, all I have is Windows. Anything you can recommend for Blu-ray burning software for a PC? If auto play is going to be a hassle, it is not that big a deal. I thought it would be a nice touch to add instead of the viewer having to push buttons to play. I got a Blu-ray burner now just need some software.
  21. I mean to play automatically when inserted in a DVD player.
  22. Shoot it and lets see. That is the best way. We are not poets, at least with words. We need visuals.
  23. OK, all I have is a regular DVD burner. Guess the software is for regular DVD's as well. Any info on how to make auto play DVD's?
  24. I am using Movavi software. It makes DVD's that are playable in a TV but not as auto play. When I input 1280x720 it gives me a max DVD option of 720x480. What software do I need that makes auto play DVDs and makes them higher res? Thanks
