For anyone who is interested, Andree from AM Cameras just replied: There isn't much information out there when it comes to the 435. Unlike the 235 and Arricams, the installation of a 3 perf kit into a 435 is quite difficult and it requires special tools and a highly experienced technician.

I have been offered an Arriflex 435 Advanced 3perf but really was hoping to find an Xtreme. There are 4perf Xtremes available hence the idea to do a conversion. If this is too costly, I'll abandon that idea.

Does anyone know if there is a 3 perf conversion kit for the Arriflex 435 Xtreme? I can find info on conversion kits for the 235 and the Arricams but not the 435. If they do exist, any recommendations for where to find one would be much appreciated. Many thanks!

I bought the MP in May this year for a film project. It was used on two takes and has since been stored safely in its box. The lens is like new, I've got the paperwork from Arri and a sales receipt. I'm looking to sell it for $21500, shipping included. If interested, please PM for more details.

Hire an experienced continuity person. Nothing worse to realize during editing that in one shot the gloves are off.

I sold a pristine kit, including tons of accessories, five magazines, four fully working batteries, for half that price two months ago. Dammit, should have waited a little longer ;)

With 'adapter', do you mean the plastic film core/bobbin? They are very cheap and you should have a bag full of them at all times. Ask the lab to return the bobbin with the scan and you will never run out. Much easier than empty daylight spools and a lot less noisy.

Thank you for your comment, this is probably what did happen. The entire footage was rescanned last week and everything came back running at the correct speed. What a relief!

Hi Dom, thank you for the reply. There were no camera warnings, the speed was set to 24fps, the control panel read 24 and no external speed box involved. My camera operator said the same thing as you have. My hope is that something went wrong at the scanning stage but why would the 235 footage be fine while the Arricam footage is fast? The lab is closed for a long Bank holiday weekend and I won't be able to get an answer until Tuesday. Very annoying! I googled strobe timing gun but it takes me to all kinds of automotive sites. Your comment gives me hope though. I'll check the negative on a telecine and hopefully it'll be at the correct speed.

Last month I shot a short film on 35mm, using an Arricam LT and an Arriflex 235. We were shooting at 24 fps. We ran out of time and didn't get everything we wanted so went back this week to do some pick-ups and re-shoots, using the same cameras (which I own). This time though, while the 235 footage is perfect, everything we shot with the Arricam, looks sped up, as if it was shot at 20fps. Sound is out of sync and the whole thin is a bit of disaster. The Arricam was not used between the two shoots and I don't understand what could have happened. Is there a way to test the camera speed before I take it to an Arri technician? Thank you!

Has anyone shot time-lapse with an Arricam LT? I want to compress the movement of a one hour action into 60 frames, the equivalent of shooting one frame every minute. How would I go about this? Many thanks!

I am looking for a template to have foam cut for a Master Prime lens, sideways position. I would trace one myself but I dont have the lens yet and I would like to have the case ready for when I receive it. There are great cases for Master Primes one can order but Id like to recycle an existing case. Thank you!

Since I've joined this forum, I have so far only been asking questions. So I thought I'd share a bit of footage I shot with an Arricam LT after following advice in regards to steadiness tests, which turned out successful. This was shot on an overcast day, just me, the Arricam and a tripod. I'll be shooting a short film in this location soon with the help of a DP. Here's a short that I directed and produced 20 years ago. The DP was Hugh Gordon: I am an animator by trade but have always loved analog film and movie cameras. The plan is to shoot a few short subjects this year and I will be back to asking many more questions. A big Thank You to all of you who share their wisdom so generously.
