That is so great. I had actually written to Sean Charlesworth about whether this was possible but was discouraged from doing it but it seemed like a feasible idea to me (of course, my attempt probably wouldn't have gone as smooth as yours!). My camera is a later model where full disassembly is the norm for this procedure. Excelllent. Thanks for sharing this.

Looking to purchase a good functioning motor for an Eclair NPR, preferably in Europe. Crystal sync not a requirement but I do have a preference for the Perfectone Comptact.
-
Does anyone know what the SET feature on this Audio Engineering Minilock A Crystal Synch does?? Or what to do to use it? The unit itself works fine, but I'm simply curious about this one feature. If anyone has a link or copy of the original documentation on this unit, that would be really useful. I have found virtually nothing other than photos on the web. Not sure about the test button either.

look forward to seeing the pics

The motors are fairly straightforward to disassemble but careful of the fine wires that run from the front to the rear, where the commutator and brushes are. They break off very easily. I would be interested to know more about changing the bearings and a connection to the supplier and reference number. I have a few disassembled motors if you need photos before taking yours apart.

It could also simply be the rubber drive coupler is worn or stretched and isn't gripping the motor shaft as it should.
-
I have had the experience of my 16st running slightly slow because of a bad contact between the rubber cable plug end and the camera plug socket pins. There was nothing visibly wrong that I could see but using a different cable sorted it out. In theory, this bad contact idea could also apply to the switching mechanism (metal contact points) located in the film compartment.

also, my guess is this an 8v motor. Surely it would be marked if it was 12v, as were the 12v 400 ft magazines.
-
Could it be that either your motor bearings are tiny bit sticky or that the brushes or commutator need cleaning. You are meant to lubricate the camera at the two ball bearing points in the film compartment if the camera has been sitting a while and it's apparently bad to run it without doing this first.

400 ft Bolex Mag... super 16 compliant

I have heard, was it from Les Bosher?, that the modification was unnecessary but I've no first experience. -
400 ft Bolex Mag... super 16 compliant

My understanding was the rollers needed to be machined to avoid scratching the film. There may be other things as well. -
I had no luck with these RC batteries but they were the mega cheap ones so perhaps that was the problem. In the end, I built my own battery pack using Amazon batteries, D cells rated at 10,000mah and they have proven to be excellent. I re-used an old Eclair battery pack and soldered up 7 1.2v D cells and it works a treat. I still haven't had to charge it after using it numerous times. All in for under $50.

Arriflex 16st cameras and lenses for sale
steven jackson replied to steven jackson's topic in Cine Marketplace
I would post more photos but it seems that even the smallest files are too big for more than just one pic. -
has this sold?

I'm selling a few arriflex 16st cameras and lenses. Both cameras are working well, one looking a little worn but again, it does work well. 12-120 Angenieux zoom, 17.5-70 Angenieux zoom type L4, 10mm Cinegon, 16mm cine-xenon, 25mm, cine-xenon. no cables or batteries are included. I'm located in France and so think about shipping costs and exchange rates when considering anything here. Prices are in Euros and paypal is accepted. I'm open to any sort of configuration you would like...body only, body and zoom, primes only (although I'd rather sell all three primes as a set). One camera has a variable speed motor and the other has a fixed speed 24 fps. All lenses are standard arri mount. Photos on demand. 16st body- 400€ second 16st body 600€ 12-120 zoom 300€ 17.5-70 l4 zoom 550€ primes (3) 350€
