  1. Does anyone have a few Eclair npr parts lying around and can sell me a good aperture plate? Thanks.

  3. PS. This battery pack was made up of c cell batteries. When looking at the photo before purchasing, I was imagining D cells. C cells seemed rather small to be able to hold 5000mah.
  4. This is the battery and charger that I purchased...pure rubbish. It would run the camera for about 2 minutes before browning out and slowing to about 18fps. Definitely junk. I'll keep looking but if worse comes to worse, I'll invest in some decent d cells nimh batteries and make my own battery pack. I just thought it might be possible to install a switch into my battery belt that would convert it to 8v or 12v, which is how some of the battery belts for arriflex were supplied.
  5. yes, I just went that route and found that the battery was of poor quality even though it was listed as 5000mah. The charger that was sold with it was also crap and didn't seem to be charging the batteries correctly (full charge time-3 minutes), but I definitely hear you and would like to do exactly that and keep my 12v belt as is. I have thought of making my own and re-using a dead eclair battery pack that has 10 1.2v nicad d-cells in it. If you can point me to a RC battery with REAL permformance power, then I would probably go that route. So far, for me, I haven't sussed out a good supplier.
  6. I have a 12v battery belt that seems to hold a reasonable charge, but I would like to reduce it to 8v for using with my 16S and I wondered if it would be possible to simply remove two of the packs from the belt or cut the wiring to it to remove it from the circuitry. These seems like a good solution to having a power supply for my 8v camera. There are six packs in the belt, so I'm assuming each one is 2v. Any ideas?
  7. Thanks Dom, I have run film through the camera and it functions well and turns easily, as does the motor. I've decided that my cheap battery problem is exactly that...it's a cheap battery that doesn't live up to it's claims on power (the cells are C size, which seem a bit small to be able to offer of 5000mah). I also question the charger I bought as well. I've decided to re-purpose an Eclair battery back and rebuild it with better quality NiMH batteries. I have included a photo of the battery in question.
  8. That looks pretty cool. I'm hoping for a much simpler solution. I did actually get the RC battery and I'm trying to decide if I landed on a defective battery pack (it is certainly a cheap one). At 8.4v and 5000mah or 5 amps, I reckoned on this powering the arriflex for at least 20 minutes continuously without a problem, but it can only manage about 20 ft of film before slowing down and then coming to a complete stop.
  9. Does anyone here know how much power a fixed speed arri 16s motor draws. I'm looking at using a RC model power supply that is 45WH, 5000 mah, 8.4 volts. Seems like it would be more than adequate, but not sure how much juice the motor pulls and how long I can expect the camera to run on a full charge.
  10. I still have it. I broke the two wires leading from the positive terminal to the motor, but they could be replaced easily. I would like to send it off for a repair if possible.
  11. In the end, I was able to disassemble the motor but wasn't able to repair it. I can only think that the bearings, either front or rear were worn out so I opted to just count it as a lost cause. Thanks for your reply.
  12. Hi, Anyone have any experience servicing an arri variable speed motor for a 16s? The motor works fine but the shaft has a small amount of play that causes the motor to block and stop. I would like to open it up and see if there is anything I can do to remedy this, but don't want to destroy the motor taking it apart. Removing the two long screws at the shaft end does not seem to allow me access. any ideas?? Thanks.
  13. Arriflex Schneider 10mm 1.8 Cinegon in really excellent condition with front and rear caps and schneider box. CAMEFLEX MOUNT, so for Eclair and Cameflex cameras. NOT for Arriflex. Rare opportunity to own a prime like this for Eclair. I'm located in FRANCE, so factor shipping from there (but it weighs very little).
  14. Jean Louis, I have an Eclair ACL II and am wanting a Jaeger to XLR four pin, are you able to quote for making that cable up for me? It's for the small side mount battery pack. Thanks, Steve in France.
  15. Here's a photo of the interior. Looks like AA batteries to me. I want to re-use the charger that I have...is it ok to use NImh or should I use something else??
  16. Ah, ok. Perhaps there is a little corrosion on the fuses or maybe one is blown. I'll pull them out and have a look. Yes, the camera does turn over freely manually using the inching button.
  17. I'm trying to power up an ARRI BL EQ and I'm thinking that perhaps my battery isn't strong enough. It's at 13.5 volts but the Ah is only 7. It jumped once and now all I get is the red light to flash on the back. How much battery power is needed?? Also, I had a look at the fuses and am wondering the BL EQ model is configured differently. I don't see anything is the fuse compartment that resembles traditional fuses. What am I looking at here???? Once again, any help is appreciated.
  18. Thanks for the tips. I'm going to open it up and will post photos. I have already used the EL with a 12v gel battery that I have and a home made cable but I was liking the idea of keeping the portable pack that fits on the side of the camera. You're right Tom, the 12v gel will run for ages.
  19. I've never done a re-cell and am looking for advice on what batteries to buy, soldering tips, wiring from anyone that has experience in re-celling a battery pack for a Bolex EL. In particular, are the aH cumulative or does each battery need to be, say, 2000 ah.?? I haven't broken open the case yet but am expecting to find a bunch of AA batteries wired together. I want to go back with NiCad type batteries so I can use the original plug and charger. I'm handy with repairs but don't want to start a fire or have anything blow up in my face! hah. Any help would be appreciated.
  20. Camera works great. Meter works. Battery doesn't hold a charge for very long so will need replacing or re-celled. Charger works well. Shipping from FRANCE. 650€
  21. Hi and thanks Gareth but I'm looking specifically for the manual for the BLEQ, which is configured slightly differently from the regular BL. I've already had a look on apecity, which is a great resource, but no luck, other than a tiny picture of a BLEQ and a few indications of function.
  22. I got it off of this thread but it could be referring to door hinges and other less essential parts.
  23. I have only located one in the film chamber. There should be 11 and I'm wondering what should be taken off to have access for oiling.
