  1. Hi there! Looking into compact beam splitter/3d rigs in the UK for an upcoming project. Not sure if there's many left, but would love to know if someone can point me in the right direction! Thanks
  2. I would like to create a 3D model of a H16 Bolex in order to create animations that allow camera movements navigating and traversing all the internal and external elements of the Bolex. I'd like to make it perfectly accurate and am therefore searching for the measurements of every single component in addition to material properties so that I can use real-time physics in the animations. I guess the model could also be used by those looking to fix, repair or service these cameras. Does anybody know if this has already been done or could you point me in the direction of resources, schematics and such? Thanks in advance!
  3. Hey there ? my name is Janosch Simon i still love 3D and have my 3D rig nearly running ? the lenses i chose for the start were Olympus 14-42 EZ. i use them with 2 Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cameras side by side. Im fazinated by the idea of zooming while filming. That would be possible with the expansion port of the BMMCC but the quality of the lens and the lens mechanics is very bad ? then i saw that DZO makes some MFT cine zooms and now im looking or searching for a synchronoized focus and motor controler. Are you guys aware of any? i used google and searched here but perhabs i didnt use the right words ? thx and take care Janosch Simon

  5. Hi everyone! I will soon be venturing into the 360 world of cameras on a music video. I've always been intrigued by the format but never have touched it yet. What's everyone's favorite value 360 camera? Is it a combination of say, 8 go-pros, or is it standalone products with two lenses? Do any 360 cameras offer a stitched feed via SDI or HDMI for wireless viewing on set? Do any of them offer slow motion?
  6. hi guys! I have a question about shooting a specific scene in wich a over-the-top fashionable lady will appear at a garden party, and after she catches the eyes of everyone participating, she gets attacked by a pigeon - she'll be wearing a big overdecorated hat that the bird is supposed to mistake for a nest(ha-ha). Now, the bird will be CG, this turned out to be the best option. the whole scene will look as if it's shot by one of the invitees- via smartphone. This being my fist project involving CG, i'm pretty unsure of the elements that I need to address. So I was thinking that after we get the clean shot, the hat will need to be shot independently on a blue screen, also some of the decorative elements of the hat will need to be shot independently so that they could be layered on top of the pigeon that lands on the hat. markers/trackers will need to be added. I'm deffinately missing things I must be doing, so any inpunt on the matter will be of great help to me. Thank you! B.

Scott Snare VIEW PICS: https://flic.kr/s/aHskJib6Xa PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS Matched Lenses from Same Production Run For Stereoscopic 3D Productions For Cameras w/ Large Single Sensors PL Mounts Custom Padded Pelican Carry Case The Angenieux Optimo 3D Ready Package with Two DP 16-42mm Lenses takes a lot of the headache out of stereoscopic 3D production by pairing two factory-matched, high-quality lenses. For shooting S3D with a beam-splitter or side-by-side stereo rig, matched lenses are absolutely crucial. These two Optimo DP 16-42mm lenses are from the same production run – a key consideration when you're trying to find twins of a device as mechanically sensitive as a lens. (Choosing matched zooms over two sets of primes is also a good way to ease setups for stereoscopic productions.) The two super-fast lenses have matching focus scales – focus rings are perfectly calibrated – and zoom ranges, and tracking is easily adjustable. Their zoom range of 16-42mm is appropriate for most stereo-friendly shooting, which favors wide shots over close-ups. The kit comes in a custom Pelican case with padding cut specifically for the included items: The two lenses, shim kits, two screwdrivers, two lens support brackets, and two focus sticks. Note: The lenses do not fit on cameras with optical viewfinders. PL mounts Optical design optimized for large-format, single-sensor digital cinema cameras: 32mm diagonal image area covers entire active pixel area of an S35/5K sensor Super-fast aperture of T2.8 (f/2.6), with no ramping 320º focus rotation with over 20 precise focus witness marks and no breathing Calibrated focus marks in feet or meters Angenieux 16-42mm Focal Length 16mm-42mm Max Aperture T2.8 Mount PL Image Circle 31.4mm Min. 17. Hello! I am a VFX artist who specializes in stereo conversion and I have a question that I need some of you experts to answer. I noticed that a lot of films that are shot in 3D used the right eye image for the 2D version of the film. Is this the industry standard? If so, why? I have done some research in hopes of finding the answer on my own but I have been unable to find any really good information regarding this. It seems that with almost all beamsplitter / mirror camera rigs that the left image is the one being refected by the mirror, so it makes sense that you would want to use the right eye as the 2D master in oder to get the most pristine image possible. What I don't really understand is why is the left camera the one that is being reflected? Why not build the rig so that the right eye is being relefected? Thanks in advance for your help!
