Hi! I'm selling my personal panchros. I have the full 7 lens set. Paul Duclos left me a message saying the 7 lens set is one of the best sets he's seen. I have the lens report and it's great. Irvine, CA — January 23, 2017. RED Digital Cinema will be exhibiting at the BSC Expo (booth #223) in Battersea, London, from Feburary 3-4. Those visiting RED’s booth can interact with RED’s DSMC2TM cameras including, RED EPIC-W TM and WEAPON® 8K S35, which feature RED’s newest sensor, HELIUM™. Additional RED cameras will be on display in the Cirrolite, Cooke Optics, Fujinon, Schneider, and Zeiss booths. Exhibition attendees will also have an opportunity to join award-winning cinematographer Michael Snyman, as he discusses his choice of RED to shoot the highly-acclaimed television series, “The Night Manager.” Snyman will explain the technological benefits of shooting in high resolution and how it supported the creative outcome he was looking to achieve. The presentation will showcase footage from the production and will conclude with a Q&A. It is scheduled to take place in the Seminar Theatre on February 3 from 5:45pm - 6:15pm. -

Set of Cooke Speed Panchros ser. II and III, seven lenses in arri mount, 18-25-32-40-50-75-100, ser # they range from 5XXXXX to 7XXXXX. The 32mm has no focusing mount. Normal signs of usage, only the 40mm has more wear on the barrel. Glass does not have any scratches, some lenses do have irrelevant faint small cleaning marks. PICS HERE Price $19k

I'm shooting a fairly low-budget short film in February and trying to decide what camera system to go for. I won't need slow-motion, low-light wizardry, or a VFX-capable post workflow. I'll be shooting in one location, in controlled lighting. All I really care about is image quality, especially skin tones and highlight rolloff. Has anyone used--or better, compared--these two cameras, and could give a preference? Any help would be hugely appreciated! Thanks.

RED Digital Cinema has begun shipping two new cameras - the highly anticipated RED EPIC-W and the newest WEAPON®. Both cameras feature the compact and intuitive design of the DSMC2™ form factor as well as the new HELIUM™ 8K S35 sensor. HELIUM - RED’s latest sensor technology - allows for higher resolution in an S35 frame, while maintaining the superior dynamic range found in the award-winning RED DRAGON® sensor. The EPIC-W 8K S35 camera carries on RED’s tradition of putting industry-leading cinema tools in the hands of the many. EPIC-W captures 8K Full Frame motion at up to 30 fps, produces ultra-detailed 35.4 megapixel stills and offers Super 35 lens coverage. Additionally, EPIC-W is capable of incredibly fast data speeds up to 275 MB/s. Best of all, it is priced at $29,500 (for the camera BRAIN), setting a new standard for making 8K accessible to professional filmmakers. The WEAPON 8K S35 is the latest option in the WEAPON line of cameras, featuring data speeds up to 300 MB/s, the ability to capture 8K Full Frame motion at up to 60 fps, and a sensor upgrade path to the RED DRAGON 8K VV. So I’d like to know this: are there any particular scenes or films which in your view effectively used warming filters? But not only the warming ones, like 81 or 85, but also straw, antique suede, gold, coral, tobacco, or similar. And it also doesn’t have to be a particularly effective, but just something that you liked. Two, are there any cinematographers today who really like the filter look and use them even though you can do a lot in postproduction? Or any cinematographers of the past who loved to use them. Or a cinematographer who is particularly associated with a filter or liked to use a certain kind. And three, I was reading one of David Mullen’s posts yesterday where he says that what he does sometimes to achieve a warming effect is to use a blue filter, shoot a greyscale with it, then drop it for the scene, and then send a note to the colourist with a “pale yellow/golden look” message. So I was wondering, David – or anybody else who does a similar kind of thing – have you compared that look with a look of a filter the use of which would give a similar result? What’s the difference (apart from it, obviously, not being possible to remove the filter effect in postproduction)? P. S. I only saw a Cokin gold filter, and that’s for still photography. Any other producers? P. P. S. This might sound baffling, but would it be a terrible thing if there were a CTO lens filter? It would look awful? I was just thinking if, say, I was shooting something at 6500 K natural lighting, would it be possible to turn such a light into a 3000 K-ish sunset light with the use of such filter. It would probably kill a lot of other colours or something... -
Just got a complete set of the Cooke Speed Panchro ser II + III's, all geared: 18-25-32-40-50-75-100mm D.F.) All lenses have serial numbers above 700000. Gently used, some lenses have light cleaning marks, minor specs of dust. Would consider offers for the six lenses 18-25-32-40-50-75 (without the 100mm D.F.) They all focus fine. I'll be shooting a short soon and we're planning on using a Red Dragon at 6K with a set of Hawk C-Series anamorphics. I'm aware that, due to the aspect of the Dragon sensor, the resulting field of view using any given lens will be narrower than if it were shot with a 4:3 sensor such as on the Alexa. The widest focal length in the C-Series is 40mm, which on the Alexa would produce an image with a roughly equivalent FOV that a 20mm spherical might on Super 35. My question is, roughly how wide would the 40mm anamorphic appear when using the Dragon? I'm trying to work out if the 40mm will be wide enough for my needs. The reasons for choosing Dragon is for maximum resolution, given that it's a vfx heavy sci-fi. Would it be better to shoot on Alexa for maximum FOV? Or try using a set of diopters?!

18mm - 100mm and all II's and III's. All lenses are in the high 600XXX serial number, only the 32 and the 75mm are in the mid 700XXX. Mechanically are all in fine conditions, focusing is good in all them, only the 32mm is slightly stiff. iris is smooth in all the lenses. Coating is well preserved in all the lenses. Included are the original front caps for all them. Glass is in great shape in all of them, no scratches / internal haze / fungus. Just few irrelevant very faint cleaning marks in some lenses which is typical. 32mm shows more faint marks at the rear with some particle of dust. Great set in fantastic condition. I have some Super Baltars:::: 25mm f2, 2 inch 50mm f2, 3 inch 75mm f2 They are all in Mitchell R-35 mount. All the glass is in great condition. No haze and no scratches. Only the 25m 2 inch has a couple faint cleaning marks on the rear element. Mechanics are good with both the focus and iris. Let me know if you have any questions. Pics here $15900

I have some Zeiss Super Speeds for sale. Pics here They are:::: Distagon 35mm f 1,2 Planar 50mm f 1,3 Planar 85mm f 1,4 All of them are in Arriflex bayonet mount, and the 35mm Distagon does have the adapter to PL. So it's easy to move the adapter around to either lens. All three lenses are in very nice shape, no issues on the glass, focus and iris are perfect. The 50mm might have some very faint haze or just need a cleaning, but this is very minimal. All the lenses have an 80mm exterior front ring diameter. Price is $15,000
