Spoke with Certified Film yesterday about some 35mm short ends and they were very helpful. Nice folks on the phone and a modern looking website.

WOW...Are 16mm shorts ends so hard to to find that you have to go to Canada??? Times have definetly changed. :)

I am in Canada, so Toronto is a logical place. There are quite a few TV shows that use Toronto as a base, (looking like Chicago, New york, Washington, or sometimes even toronto) so there are short ends generated there.

Try Comtel Pro Media in Burbank. I formally ran the film dept at Media Distributors and have opened a film department here.

16mm short ends are in short supply, but we are slowly building up a good inventory. Please call me at 818-450-1122 or email me at richard@comtelpm.com

I have a pile of 16mm short ends and long that I'm trying to off load, I'll give you a screaming deal. These are what I have, I have some longer stuff too, in the 350' area, I can make a list. Just make an offer at this point via PM, I've kept what I've wanted. All as been kept cool, and well cared for. Most is left over stock from commercial shoots.

I have 6460 feet of 35mm short ends that I can sell you for the price of 16mm. Stock is discontinued so I'm selling it cheap. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks,

Mike

A little late here in replying, but I thought this would be a good place to bring some people up to date on our inventory with respect to Super 16mm at Certified. We have 14 X 400' fresh rolls of 7218 500T purchased from a doc. that shot in Alaska in 2008/2009/2010. Emulsion is 208 - same batch numbers for all the cans. While 7218 was discontinued by Kodak 3 years ago (replaced by Vision 3 7219), this was a special order from this production. Emulsion numbers of this stock place it very near to the last of the 7218 ever made. The film has been stored as recommended.

Our inventory is otherwise sparse with respect to Super 16mm unfortunately - some recans of 7219 and SE's of 7207 & 7201 - not that many productions shooting 16 these days - the Red and DSLR's have stolen this market over the past few years, and are slowly eating into the 35mm market as well... booooo I say!

We ship very regularly to the U.S. and use Fed Ex exclusively for this.

Of course given the current state of the film market, we deal mainly with 35mm mpf.

Thanks Will for the kind words.

Cheers!

Jay
