Robin R Probyn Posted February 23, 2016 Author Share Posted February 23, 2016 Yes there is a famous story he was filming in Germany ,just before WW2, with some huge old camera that made some big sudden noise .. Goebbels stopped speaking and a few hundred brown shirted thugs turned round giving him the evil eye .. I think he later described it as "a very uncomfortable moment".. it was his pre war footage.. and the actual attack of Poland ,that got him a job at Ealing Studios..
