I have a s2008 camera with a dead battery. I want to recell and am wondering how you open the battery plug? holder? to get to the cells inside. With those you have to lift off the top cover plate (a bit of acetone or thinners around the edge should loosen the glue, then pry it up), and then underneath is a screw-on lid with 2 holes for a lens wrench or similar tool. Jean-Louis Seguin Posted August 10, 2017 Share Posted August 10, 2017 Sounds like you have the very first version of the 2008 which used four flat NiCd cells which are obsolete now. Steve Broback Posted August 16, 2017 Share Posted August 16, 2017 My guess is that the plate under the leather is threaded into the body like the later batteries. If there are no holes in the cap you could try drilling a couple so you could use a pin wrench to unthread. Even with holes in the later caps, these are almost impossible to unscrew due to aluminum to aluminum corrosion. Good luck! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
