Angénieux 12,5-75 T2.5 Covers Super 16 ?

The new-old-stock Angenieux 17.5-75mm "compact" lenses which were sold by Whitehouse A/V out of inventory made for the CP GSMO do cover Super16mm. As Tyler points out, the older 12-75mm, 12-120mm and 10-150mm zooms do not. The long zooms vignette at the wide end and cinch in again at the corners between about 25mm and 35mm.

Petter sure I was thinking the 17.5-75mm. I think Tyler is right.

Yea, 17.5 is probably fine for S16. I don't have a C mount S16 camera to test mine, but that sounds about right.

Well that would be a very misleading info coming from them, I guess it covers in the viewfinder but does not translate to real frame size.

The 17 -68 and 17,5 -70 are S16 for sure, I shot with them. I also heard about a 0.7x Angénieux Wide attachement that makes them around 12.5 - 49mm !

Visual products claims it's S16. https://visualproducts.com/product/angenieux-17-5-70mm-t2-5-wide-angle-zoom-lens/

Just found one of those 0.7x for sale so I'll definitely try it.

I have an Angenieux 12.5-75mm zoom and although I've only used it on regular 16mm format cameras,  It's a great lens for it's age, produces decent results, is lightweight and compact.  It's also less bulkier than Angenieux 12-120mm, especially when working hand held.

Does anyone know more about the Angenieux 12.5-75mm zoom lens history?

I've seen it frequently on Beaulieu cameras but otherwise seems much more obscure as far as vintage Angenieux zooms.

Any reason for the 12.5-75mm lens's obscurity? Were the 12-120mm and 10-150mm more popular because of their greater zoom range for the money?

Thanks,

Mark
