Are you sure? We are under threat of US invasion every day. Did you see "Wag The Dog"? What if Bushy decides to deflect the public's attention from his policies by invading Canada?

By the way John....just out of curiosity, what is your connection to the film industry?

Your signature says this:

J.H. Barto

Legal Systems, LTD.; Recovery Analyst

Are you a lawyer for the entertainment industry or some thing similar?

R,

Haha  -no connection, whatever! Lawyers are a slimely bunch, but we work with them, local gov., private industry, etc. I'm most proud of my latex mask making ability, however. Oh, also you could call me 'Jon'. "John" is not my name. Its pronounced 'Jon-a-bear', but I don't really care. Just in case you wondered...I get mail with "John" written on it all the time...

I wouldn't worry about Bush invading Canada...umm, I mean Bushy. We could picture it, though...for fun. Bush invades Canada to pry our attention away from Iraq. Then he says he did it to rid gays from the Canadian military around election time for the southern vote....hehehe Well, I'm sure you could write a better treatment. Thats still funny, though...

C'mon guys...How about putting it back in your pants already?

We're not done measuring yet! oh, and don't stand so close, Daniel is getting nervous.

Just kidding Daniel....you are right. The "BOATS" deserve more credit. My apologies to the British people...

Sorry but.. what?

I'd say:

1. United States

2. China

3. Israel

4. India

5. Russia

6. Korea, South

7. Korea, North

8. United Kingdom

9. Turkey

10. Pakistan

(Actual combat power, not size)

Yes,'actual' combat power is determined by my "based on" cue in the previous post...

It's funny how you forget about Germany. Didn't we do that awhile back... :o They produce some of the best Fighter jets on the planet. They don't copy us like other nations, they innovate. The Swedes are also badasses in aviation design...

South Korea does not belong on your list as a single entity, uh-hum, the USA has been there forever... :( ....If they are so good, why are we there? Trust me, its not that popular here in America. Yes, even among the right..Their government(not to mention Japans government) really, really want us there.

James:

There is an old saying James, it takes two to make an argument. Did I put a gun to your head and force you to post, or did you choose to of your own free will?

That's because you'd have to fill out a mountain of paperwork just to GET a gun to hold to my head. AHHHHHH Richie, I know exactly where you keep that goat of yours's tied up and can go get it anytime I feel like it.

This is exactly what Bill Maher meant when he called Americans cowards for lobbing in cruise missles from off shore at foreign countries. Even more chilling was George Bush on the news telling a reporter that the USA would go into Pakistan if they knew Bin Laden was there even though the Pakistan gov't has forbidden US troops on their soil.

And Bill Marher being the formost millitary expert in the US, so of course HIS opinion is the most valid of all. We "Lob" Cruise Missiles from off shore at foreign countries because is we did what we should do and went into these "nations" to exact the justice they deserve, we would be called "Imperialists" by those counties who have a financial interest in keeping thier regimes in power and unfortunately some of those counties are allies we do not want to offend, so we lob cruise missiles in response to the merciless acts of barbaric terrorism that these "Nations" condone and support. It's a measured response and FAR less than they deserve. If Bill Maher calls it cowardice then why doesn't he support invasion as the "manly" way of dealing with these renegade nations or does he think we should just sit back and let them blow up what ever national monument or American building they happen to feel like blowing up that particular day because we object to them treating women like slaves and have a problem with them exicuting men for shaving off thier beards? Bill Maher is a TALK SHOW HOST. He's JOB is to say outragous thing to boost ratings. He pushed his luck and got fired. Bill Maher is an idiot, but, for what it's worth, I think his dismissal was a shameful and cowardly act on the network's part. As for Bush wanting to go into Pakistan to get Bin Laden, If we knew exactly where the Motherf*@ker was , I"D go in and get the C*cksu*#er, myself and the Pakistannie government could KISS my forbbiden A**, ESSPECIALLY if they're KNOWNINGLY hiding the son of a BITCH. F*@K their policy. Let 'em bleed for it if they want to enforce it.

Actually man for man Canadian soldiers are by far the best in the world. 1000 Canadian soldiers would wipe out 1000 American soldiers in an afternoon. Canadian troops have proven themselves in battle over and over again. With what Canada pays its soldiers and the pathetic support they receive from the public here you have to be really dedicated to want to be a soldier in this country. Unlike the USA people don't join the military here because of the benefits, there are none. I forget how many times Canadian fighter pilots have won the Top Gun trophy at the school Tom Cruise made famous.

Yeah RIGHHHHT, if that makes ya feel better, Richie.

You mean the TOP GUN school WE invented?

Canada leads the NATO forces in Southern Afghanistan where most of the fighting is going on. Canada is also suffering the highest casualty rate in Afghanistan right now, but our boys have killed into the thousands of Taliban.

So apparenty, your not the peace loving, live and let live, oh those poor middle easterners, they're just misunderstood so how dare you lob cruise missiles into thier country, nation you claim to be, are ya Richie. Your just as blood thirsty and violent as we are, or even more bloodthirsty, at least in Afghanistan, than we are according to your accounts of how many Talaban your soldiers have killed. BTW how many of those Taliban were innocent people that your soldiers turned around and machine gunned down in cold blood and how many were interogated under the auspeses of the Genieva Convention? I'm sure there was absolutely no torture and extreme treatment while these Talaban prisoners were in the hands of your soldiers was there? Yeah right. Again, believe that if it makes you feel better, Richie.

"human knots"

that sounds sweaty...

I'm sorry dude but I have to say this, GOOD ONE! :D

They actually already did a movie "aboot" Invading Canada- South Park Bigger, Longer and Uncut.

We're not done measuring yet! oh, and don't stand so close, Daniel is getting nervous.

Just kidding Daniel....you are right. The "BOATS" deserve more credit. My apologies to the British people...

The contest is over. I won. I think it was the big brass ones that put me over the top. BTW do you want the yardstick back? B)

James,

If you ever DO take a trip outside of the USA you might want to try this option:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6666338/

I found the on-line poll rather interesting, 57% chose the "Yes, great idea option."

R,

It's Steve actually. That's COOL. I'm not that far from Albuquerque, next time I'm up there, I'll get one of those maple leaf shirts and ball caps so I don't have to answer any more innane, loaded or obtuse questions about American foreign policy the next time I visit Canada. THANKS RICHIE!!!

Hey kids, time to brush your teeth and go to bed !

But really, let this thread rest in peace, like the man it was originally dedicated to.

P.

P.S.: By the way, Mr. Beverly, did you "win" these wars with your left or your right hand ?

I'm a switch winner, Priyesh. Ambendextorous, if you know what I mean? I sometimes even use both hands. But I do agree on one point, I think everyone can agree on. Steve Irwin was one of a kind. A unique individual. Love him or hate him, if you ever saw him, you will never forget him, may he Rest in Peace. B)

You call me Richie the entire time even though I don't insult you with regard to your name in any way, and you correct me for calling you James, even though you are listed here as James Steven Beverly? OK makes sense.

"I know exactly where you keep that goat of yours's tied up and can go get it anytime I feel like it."

Ok now come on how can any one who has followed this thread believe that? You posted in response to me not the other way around. Sorry sir, but you have "SUCKER" stamped on your forehead every time you respond to me.

As usual your understanding of world affairs is about the level of the typical FOX news viewer. I expect you have a huge picture of Bill O'Reilly hanging in your bedroom.

Find me any credible evidence any where to suggest that Canadian forces have used torture in Afghanistan? I can find you plenty of evidence regarding US torture i.e. Abu Ghraib, show me some thing to suggest Canada has done the same? I publically challenge you.

Bloodthirsty is defined as a group that seeks the blood of others, ie George Bush and his buddies. Afghanistan is a UN mandated NATO mission, Iraq is not either of those, it's a USA mandated mess. That is why Canada participates in Afghanistan and not Iraq we believe in standing with our allies and supporting the UN.

Oh, I'm not insulted, Richie. I just thought you'd like to get the name right when you write about me being right-winged, war mongering A**hole. But that's up to you. You can call me whatever you like, I HAVE after all been called worse. B)

ARE YOU KIDDING, This is fun. It breaks up the day. I wouldn't MISS responding to you posts ol' buddy. You give me a laugh every time I read them. As for that "SUCKER" stamp, that actually refers to a intimate little thing that goes on between me and my girlfriend. It's is kind of a private matter, so let's just leave it at that.

As usual your understanding of world affairs is about the level of the typical FOX news viewer. I expect you have a huge picture of Bill O'Reilly hanging in your bedroom.

I rarely hang posters of guys in my bedroom, in fact I haven't hung a poster up in my beddroom sence I was 12 but IF I did hang a poster up it would be a poster of Denise Richards and Neve Campbell kissing from Wild Things.

Find me any credible evidence any where to suggest that Canadian forces have used torture in Afghanistan? I can find you plenty of evidence regarding US torture i.e. Abu Ghraib, show me some thing to suggest Canada has done the same? I publically challenge you.

I don't have proof, but I know enough about war to know if your guys killed that many people, some of them were innocent, collateral casualties and there were some perioners in your military's care that got the Hell beat out of them. If you don't believe that then your nieve or lying to yourself.

A UN mission spearheaded by the US and that doesn't make any less of a war. As I said before, I'm not going to defend Bush's war, it was a con job that got us into a war we should have never had to fight. But I will defend the guys and gals who are over there fighting it. They are doing a remarkable job under the circumstanses the were put into. They are soldiers not diplomats or politians. They are being forced to deal with the failure of their government in these areas without the training or tools nessasery to do so. Even in their primary mission as soldiers, they were sent in, undermanned and undersupplied by an administraition that seems to deal more in sound bites rather than reality, but despite this, they easily defeated the enemy's conventional forces and established an occupying force almost immediately with the express purpose of stabilizing the country and withdrawing as soon as possible. They maintained a professionalism through out this ordeal and when the code of military behavour was broken under and, with the full knowledge, of their government and superiors, they blew the whistle on those who were committing the acts of misconduct by leaking information and photos to the American press. They mantain a high state of moral despite extremely adverse conditions and betrayals by thier own government. They comtinue a campaign of attempting to rebuild the Iraqi nation they are forced, by circumstance to occupy, into a free and democratic entity and win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people despite the vast cassum af cultural, economic and and religous differences while doing so under the most grueling of conditions and despite suffering numeruos casuaties within their own ranks inflicted by cowards unwilling to fight in the open. They do so without becoming barbaric or inhuman as one might expect under such circumstanses. The people that are targeted and suffer the might of the American millitary are the terrorist scum that want to keep thier own people enslaved and use a campaign of brutalitiy and religous propganda to twist the truth about America's goal in Iraq, to turn it into a free and enlightend modern nation that can help stablize that region of the world. We rebuild a powerplant in Bagdad, the terrorists blow it up. We try to set up free elections so their people can decide what kind of government they want, the terrorists murder people going to vote. Who are the real monsters here?

I'm just quoting a source from the military analyst and author James Dunnigan.

America owns Canada, end of story, OK, I'm with Captain Video, you've lost.

My Dad visited both America and Canada some years back on behalf of HM Prison Service. From what he told me, Canada was a much nicer place. And that if he was to immigrate anywhere it would be Canada.

Whilst he was in America he also got offered a hand gun for about £40. The guy knew he was from the U.K, told him that it was up to him on getting it back, but that he wouldn't worry about seeing any paperwork.

Not that I'm anti-American. No country is perfect. I just think their foreign policy stinks. Infact there are certain things in America I would love to see employed over here.

Well to be completely honest, I haven't even tried looking for any proof your forces shot civilians or tortured prisioners nor do I want to waste time doing so, so I'll stand by my original statment and leave it at that.

I suppose you'll have to, since you are inclined to make wild accusations that have no basis in fact, and are products only of your imagination. At least when I talk about US atrocities, I HAVE 100% guaranteed photographic proof on my side. You have didly squat.

Bringing 'facts' into this is unfair! Who do you think you are quoting a reliable source?

No really, point taken.... :P

Still though, no love for Germany? They have to be on someones 'list'.., right? Man, I'm taken this too hard...

Young Master Buick:

This is from Wikipedia which is on the internet so it most be true.

& is from "God's ten-star general in the war against media pornography" and the leader of CLAMP (an acronym for Christian Legion Against Media Pornography).

Powerful credentials these.

--That the Soviet Union still exists, and is allied with Canada (though J.C. sometimes says England) against the United States now. Glasnost never happened, and a sign of Art Bell's treachery was that he modified his position from being conservative during the days of the Soviet Union to being a "little more liberal" now.

--That Canada "has declared open war on America" due to Canada's legalization of gay marriage.

--That Canada is using science fiction to somehow destroy the United States, citing William Shatner's Canadian nationality and the fact that the X-Files is filmed in Canada.

--That Star Trek is pornographic and that it is part of the New World Order.

Does that sound like America owns Canada?

Seems that Boeing's going to be building that virtual wall on the wrong border.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Christian_Webster

As far as invading Iran goes, after having nothing but trouble with those idiots ever sense the late 70's I'm leaning more and more towards parking a Trident in the Gulf of Oman just off shore from those beautiful fun-filled Iranian beaches and turning the whole freakin' place into a radioactive ember the minute they cut the ribbon on that unrainium enrichment reactor of theirs. BUT that's just my opinion.

So the Pope quotes a 14th century Byzantine emperor who says Muslims are violent and impulsive.

So many are insulted by this then burn some non-Catholic Christian churches, kill a nun and demand the Pope be killed.

Reminded me of the Captain.

& it's switch HITTER!

Look, I've got absolutely nothing againdt Canada, I'm just getting annoyed at Richard Boddington's constant ravings about the place, I do like Canada, it has many good qualities that the US does, yet is ever so slightly british, and isn't as patriotic (though there are exeptions to this rule, you will probably know who I'm talking about), and I don't mind patrisim, as long as you don't annoy other people with it, and I'm absolutely lovin' the war between Boddington and Video, one of them is going to win, but who.
