Brian Rose
For those interested, Ebertfest '09 will culminate with a screening of Baracka, in its intended format! It'll be screened at the Virginia Theatre in Champaign, IL. I've been in the projector booth when they showed Hamlet in 70mm, and it's a top notch set up: Dual Norelco DP70s, run by one of the best projectionists still working. You can find more info below. Tickets go on sale in April. I'll be there, and hopefully you will too! ebertfest.com Brian Rose

Andy Karkut
It's Baraka, not Baracka; unless you mean our President is intending to be beamed live in 70mm!
Brian Rose
Yeah, I'm always misspelling it! Brian
Tom Lowe
I'm still waiting for the 70mm print to come to the Aero in LA!!! I missed it last year.

Leo Anthony Vale
I just rented the Baraka video in Blu-Ray. But not quite the same as watching a 70mm print on a big screen from the 4th row.
Thomas James
Unfortunately my television is only a 26 inch 720p LCD which is good enough for 35mm films but I think Baraka in Blu-Ray really needs a proper 1080p television to really do the 70mm film image justice. Mark Norman
I found to be emotionally devastating. I honestly don't know if I could handle it in 70mm.
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted April 3, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted April 3, 2009 I always wind up crying at that part. It's really effective. It's films like this and the Sqatsis, I think, which really show how powerful film(s) can be at least for me. In fact, when I first saw Kooyannisqatsi (spelling?) my freshman year in films school, I decided, well, I wanted to move into being a DP.
