Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted February 4, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted February 4, 2011 The skill of the colorist is much more important than the actual grading system IMHO.
Site Sponsor Robert Houllahan Posted February 4, 2011 Site Sponsor Share Posted February 4, 2011 There is really not any difference in quality/resolution, etc. between the two both will assemble and grade DPX scans and have similar color correction tools. Lustre seems to be more popular with shops that have a all Autodesk (Discreet) environment and Baselight is used in many shops from small to big. And yes the colorist is what you should be basing your decision on, not the machine. -Rob-

Thanks a lot If you wanna quick turn around on the final finishing of the Film, they Baselight could aid a lot, and again it depends on the facility with which you are working. Toolsets would have much greater confidence and flexibility with Baselight.
