Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted April 20, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted April 20, 2011 As far as I know it was a 35mm show, aside from video cameras used for like night vision and video feeds and the like.

Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted April 20, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted April 20, 2011 From what I've noticed, most FOX shows from back then, and even some now, are film origination. Fringe, Glee, House are all film, Chicago Code is Alexa, raising hope is video though I don't know which one.
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted April 20, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted April 20, 2011 Not that it's always 100% Accurate, but often IMDB is a good starting place to find out Tech Specs, especially for more recent TV/Movies. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285331/technical

Premium Member Chris Keth Posted April 21, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted April 21, 2011 Some of the driving plates were shot with 5Ds, there's a bit of digital format there.
Stuart Brereton
Some of the driving plates were shot with 5Ds, there's a bit of digital format there. In the the first few series they used MiniDV for the plates!
Ravi Kiran
Didn't they shoot one season in HD and then switch back to film?
Stuart Brereton
Didn't they shoot one season in HD and then switch back to film? I believe DP Rodney Charters shot with a RED one alongside the 35mm cameras on one season, but I don't think the footage was ever intended to be used. Samuel Berger
Supernatural is shot with a Red One, I was surprised to find that out. Looks great.
Francesco Bonomo
Supernatural is shot with a Red One, I was surprised to find that out. Looks great. Season 1 to 3 were shot on film, they then moved to D21/Red in season 4, and they're on Alexa now.
Samuel Berger
Season 1 to 3 were shot on film, they then moved to D21/Red in season 4, and they're on Alexa now. Thanks for the info, it's my favourite show. :o) They mentioned Fringe on this thread, the last episode I saw, the one with the cel-shaded cartoonised Walter and Peter, didn't seem to have been shot on film. It looked a little different. Anyone seen that?
