Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted March 31, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted March 31, 2012 I was very underwhelmed with the video for the new 50D stocks. It just wasn't well put together and didn't show much under/overs. I recall, back in the day, they used to have stills on the kodak site with the F values put on them. I'd love to see that in a scanned video to get a rough idea before I go and pick it up for a test.
Manu Delpech
Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead kinda, but if you wanna really see what Vision 3 50D looks like, just watch Mud on Blu Ray, they shot the day beach scenes (except the ones under the tree canopy on the island where they used 250D 5207 ) on 50D (and I'm guessing, the rest of the day exterior scenes). Needless to say, the whole movie is gorgeous. Edited July 7, 2014 by Manu Delpech
Premium Member Bill DiPietra Posted July 7, 2014 Premium Member Share Posted July 7, 2014 I watched Mud recently. I absolutely loved the film for its story & characters, but the cinematography is not an element that sticks out in my mind as being that memorable (except for one of the final night scenes.) Hence, the point of this discussion, I guess!
Manu Delpech
To each his own, I think it's one of the most beautifully shot movies on 35 mm in the last few years.
Prashantt Rai
A dense 7203 negative framed for 1.85 leaves no hint of grains. i have shot two projects with it.
