Alexander Boyd
Hello everyone, I'm wondering if a Moviecam SL is quiet enough to shoot sync sound? I keep finding different specs online, some stating that its SYNC, some MOS. Would love to hear your experiences in that regard. Thanks!
Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted January 6, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted January 6, 2016 It's certainly audible in a dead quiet room, though not loud. I think it was designed mainly for handheld and Steadicam use outdoors. You can probably use a barney to get it around 20dB if necessary.
Giray Izcan
It is more like maybe an SR2, which is sync sound, but not quiet enough in a small, dead quiet room. Much like an SR2, if you're in a super quiet room, and are 2-3ft or super close to the subject, noise will probably be an issue.
Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted January 7, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted January 7, 2016 for example 21 Grams was shot with the SL. I don't know how much of it was adr:d though. Aaton 35 was also used for sync sound in some films so it should certainly be possible
