Yash Lucid Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Basically the shot opens on a beautiful beach, sunny skies, lovely weather, then we pan or track to reveal it's just a poster....... Anybody have links to this? I can't remember where I saw it, but I'm happy for references other than a beach too.
Max Field Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 That's a gag which has definitely been done before, multiple times. Maybe in a Pixar movie?
Dan Hasson Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 The beginning of Tamahori's, Once Were Warriors, opens like the way you described. You can watch it here. Its not a beach but its a beautiful New Zealand landscape.
JD Hartman Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 in Brazil. The backdrop hides the industrial wasteland behind it.
Jon O'Brien Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Didn't Jurassic Park II have a scene like that? It worked well.
Premium Member Adam Frisch FSF Posted August 22, 2017 Premium Member Posted August 22, 2017 Top Secret! I think...
Dan Hasson Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 I think there's something like this in Twin Peaks (season 1). An orange sunset at a beach and then the camera tracks to one side to reveal thats not where you are.
