No battery on the inside, the camera is battery agnostic as long it has the required voltage and can deliver the amps. You can mount a FXlion nano one to the side and power the camera via D-tap to lemo cable with it. Or on the back on rods (a bridge plate for 15mm rods is in the works). I designed the Y8 for the BP-U 60, which was silly, bc Sony stopped manufacturing them.

Maybe I'll design a hand grip which takes two small off the shelf camera batteries, but that's not my priority now.
