Mikael Gustafson
This is not strictly a film set rigging question but I think this forum might be my best bet at finding an answer. I've got a replica studio 5K that originally came from Restoration Hardware. It's one of those cast copies that houses a couple of Edison bulbs and you put it in your office. (https://rh.com/us/en/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod280223) Problem is the pin is not a junior pin, it's larger. Maybe 1 3/8" or so. I don't have the original stand that they sold with it and none of my actual combo stands will hold it because of the strange size. I can't see a way to remove the pin from the light itself. Is there a solution for mounting larger yoke pin sizes to a stand? Did old lights used to have larger pin sizes and they are being extra "authentic?" Joerg Polzfusz
Maybe you are only lacking some adapter? https://modernstudio.com/collections/pins/products/copy-of-stand-adapter-1-1-8-to-5-8-steel Or the manufacturer is using some cheap Chinese stands with a non-standard mount, e.g. a parasol stand?!
