  1. I believe he has a reflexed camera. Haven't seen a CP-16 to C mount adapter before.
  2. A nice lens is the Angenieux 9.5-57 f1.6 Compact, wide and fast. If your near a rental house or cine lens repair shop and can have them look at it, don't forgo a clean Ang. 12-120. A clean well maintained one can be a very serviceable lens. And there are a lot of them around.
  3. The Gerber models are also nice.
  4. Yeah that's what I was thinking of. I guess we never will know who Ms Francis was. lol Thanks Adam
  5. I seem to remember that this was an on camera (obie) light and that Ms. Francis was some actress who for whatever reason demanded the use of it. But I might be confusing the term with something else. lol
  6. Hi Matt, Panavision has one at their site. I believe it's under the tool section. Chuck
  7. Howdy R. Leao, If I understand right what your asking, A one inch focal length would be 25.4 mm or just 25 mm for short. Sometimes considered the standard focal length for the 16 mm format. Chuck
  8. Magazine clutches can affect registration. If their lube is aging and drying up it can make for anything from torn perfs to overly tight take up wind that can stretch the film. Both of which are not a good thing for transfers or registration in rear projection.
  9. Hi Gary, Yeah they been doing that for a while. If I understand it right it's a replacement of the rear optical group (sometimes referd to as the collimating group) which allows for a larger effective aperture. I don't believe it's possible to increase the stop of the standard rear end. But I've been known to be wrong! lol Chuck http://www.zgc.com/zgc.nsf/c7a682995edb4e7...69?OpenDocument
  10. Hi Michael, This months (June) issue of Electronic Products has a section on LED lighting that might be of intrest to you. Scroll down about half way for articles in that issue. http://www.electronicproducts.com/ Chuck
  11. Hi Michael, Wondering why you picked 200,000hz as your oscilator freq.
  12. Remember Brainstorm? The sequences depiciting the "Brainstorm" effect were shot in 65mm. An early precursor to Trumbels 65mm 60f.p.s. Showscan process.
  13. Hmmm.... Sure were a lot of those Angenieuxs marked 10x12 and 10x25 etc. Mayby the French versions were marked the other way around. Don't know.
  14. The screw on filter holder for the Ang. 10x12 was designed to use series 9 drop in filters. The one in your photo does not look like an Ang. holder though.
  15. You'll burn in Hell for that! Best repent right now. Say forty hail camera techs and fifty avi collimators.
  16. There's GOD then camera techs. All else is below the line. hahahah snorf snark hack hack chorttle chorttle.... sorry, I'll go now.
  17. You mean like the gear shift on my truck?
  18. Ok, 55mm-72mm whatever, it's in a fixed mount attached to the zoom right? And this is the recommened configuration right? hmm...if you got the time and just for yucks set you rig up in front of the target and with the camera and zoom with the achro removed, look thru the back of the RR unit and focus the Nikon lens on the ground glass and lock off the tripod. Now put the camera/lens/achro package back on the tripod and see if you can get sharp focus by adjusting the zoom lens with whatever combo of macro/close focusing/zooming settings that work.
  19. Hello Tim, I hoped you told that guy that it's takes years of training to be qualified to use precision tools like vise-grips. Even then he would not yet be ready for the use more advanced tools such as channel locks and bench vises. These skills do not come easy. As for the "T" on the Jena lens... I haven't got the FFI! lol see ya, Chuck
  20. Andrew, So the 55mm focal length achro mounted between the zoom and the RR unit is being used as a closeup diopter? Gotta think about this. I find it odd that the zoom is being used for focusing. It looks like it cost some bucks. I would not be pleased with the tech support that you seem to be getting from the RR company. Anyhow if it was sold as a unit that would work with your camera and lens combo something is wonky there. I still think it's an optical spacing problem.
  21. Andrew, I've never used one of those lens adapter thingys..so I might not know of what I speak. lol But what I think I'm seeing is curverture of field. Have you tried focusing on the edges of the target and seeing if the center is then out of focus? Also, (and this is probally a stupid question) does the zoom have to be in macro mode for this to work? If I'm bothering you I'll SFU! Chuck
