Hi Bruce. The LOMO OKS lenses with OST-19 can have two versions of gears. The lenses from set of Kinor-35 H camera have gear with small step between cogs. The lenses from set of Konvas-2M camera can have gear with big step. If you need, i can measuring and tell you size of steps. If you have lenses with Konvas-2M type of gear and wish have of small step gear ( Kinor-35H type ), the lens can be modifi. The other type of ring with gear ( Arri step ) can be install too.

Mir-11 12.5 mm lens good sharp lens and have good optical characteristics at maximum opened position of aperture too. I think, the your camera and your lens have different flange focal distance. You need test of camera and lens on collimator. Any case, we told about factory assembled Mir-11 lens. You need inspect of condition of body of lens. The all stop-screws must be on holes. The rear draw-ring of last glass of optical block must be jammed and stop-screw must be inside hole. The rear draw-ring of optical block bust be jammed too. The lens mount don't must be loose.

The many guys read of label " Konvas-M " on body of camera and this, what this is Konvas-1M. But, this can be KSR-1M from series of Konvas-1 cameras. The second question - type of motor. Konvas-1 have rheostat control motor 25 M-8M and ask of 6, 8 v battery. But, the battery must have high power, more 10 ah. What type of battery you use ? Can you send me picture of this battery ? Konvas-1M cameras can have 15EPSS, 17EP-16 APK, 19EP-16 APK, 18EP-16 APK, 5 BDS and other type of motors. About speed meter. The all Konvas cameras have speed meter magneto-electrical type and position of pointer on scale depend from speed of rotation of axis of camera, gap between magnetic disk and sensor of meter and position of adjustable resistor inside. That's why, the meter must be adjusted after service of camera. You need install of crystal sync speed motor on the camera and adjust of position of pointer by variable resistor. K-3 do not transport of film good without pressure plate

You have footage with pulsation of density on nearby pictures ? What type of lighters you use ? What frequency have AC main power& Your camera have crystal sync speed, multi speed motor ? What speed you set on camera. The flicker problme can be at beat between freqency of light pulses and camera speed. Or , you have darkness part on image ? or the part of frame - smeared picture

The mechanisn of Krasnogrosk included one sproket wheel and 4 film rollers from two side of wheel. The rollers set on two levers at two rollers on one lever. The every roller have gnowing-through,( turning ) for cog's of sproket wheel. If the position of sproket wheel or rollers incorrect, the cog of wheel can jam at roller. The next problme can be at gaps between wheel and rollers. If the gap too small, the film will jam between wheel and rollers, if too mach - the cogs will lost of perforation of film and film will jam too. The every lever have screws for fix of position of lever and screw for adjust of position of lever. Need uscrew of " fix" screw a some, closed rollers on wheel with film and turn of " adjustable " screw and adjust of positon of rollers. The gap between of rollers and wheel must be like two thickness of Kodak film. Krasnogorsk-2 good device, have body like Krasnogorsk-1, bayonet mount and zoom lens "Meteor", like Krasnogorsk-3. You can use of all prime lenses from set of Kransogrosk-1, 12.5mm, 20 mm, 50 mm and lenses from 16SP professional cine cameras. The professional 16 mm russian zoom lens 16OPF-12-1 10-100 mm can be upgrade of ruse with Krasnororsk cameras with bayonet mount. K-2 use metal film magazines. K-3 build for use of 100 ft daylight spools.

I recommed you to begin of use of Konvas from upgrade of original power unit 15EPSS on 6 v version of battery and a shoot a first time. If you will need crystal sync speed motor, you can think about replace of motor on 17EP-16 APK or 19EP-16 APK, or 18EP-16 APK, or about upgrade of electronics of original 15EPSS motor. I wish underline, the upgrade of 15EPSS motor on crystal sync speed version possible, but, this is version will ask of 24 v or 48 v battery. 15EPSS motor module inlcuded of 27 V DC motors inside and this is DC motors don't wish work with 12 v battery. That's why, the original power unit of 15EPSS included of voltage changer from 8.5v to 52 v ( 27+27V ) and we must use of 24 v ( parallel feed of DC motors ) or 48 v ( series connection ). The any voltage changer have coefficient of efficiency less of 100% and you will lost a some power of bettery. That's why, I prefer of idea of use two 12 v ( 12+12=24 v ) low power batteries, from one 12v high power battery with DC-DC voltage changer on 24 v.

This is bad device for 15EPSS motor. At first - Peack current 11 A. The user manual of 15EPSS told about peack current 23A, nomimal 9A. From other side, the circuit of 15EPSS power unit ask of battery, because to sum up of voltage of voltage changer with voltage of battery. The AC-DC, DC-DC power supple can be unfit. The original silver-zinc cell SCS-15 rare and will have very high price ( price of silver ). The power unit can be upgrade for 6 v battery and will carry of all speeds with 6 v battery. The 6 v 4ah and more high power battery carry of 24 fps with serviced camera. ( from my practical experience ). I work with 6v 4 ah SLA batteries. 6v 10ah can be good, 15 ah battery can be better, but, need check of dimension and can you set of battery inside of power unit. The wires from battery to power unit must have minimum length. P.S You can ask me about upgrade of 15 EPSS power unit for 6 v battery.

For note: Eclair cameras can use of lens mount adapter of russian lenses of Kinor-16 camera and can use of 5.9 mm OKS lens, and zoom lens 16OPF-12-1 with 0.75 front wide attachmen 7.5-75 mm. 5.9 mm lens - free focus and have fixed distance of adjusting of focus 0.9m, but, can be re-adjust on least distance. 16OPF-12-1 zoom lens have minimum distance of focusing 1.5 m at 10-100 mm zoom version and 0.9 m with 0.75 front attachmnet , 7.5-75 mm zoom version. The prime lenses OKS from Kinor-16 camera, 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm have minimum distance of focusing 0.5m.

I use similar device, Lens mount adapter Pentacon Six-OST-19, with my Konvas-2M camera long time and very happy to use of medium format lenses with cine camera. I think, You need study of main PCb of electronic module, search of power components of motor control, voltage stabilizers and other. You need study of wires between main components of motor and show of all wires on diagram. This is DC motor ? What kinds of feed back sensor have motor? This is tachometer generator or optical encoder or magnetic sensor, other type? I see, the speed switch show of " Synch" near 24, 25 fps only. May be, the other speeds with manual speed adjusting ?, not crystal sync speed ?

Interested idea. But, a few questions. - how many liters of chemistyr need for tube 770 mm x 110 mm ? Or you wish processing of film at horizontal position of tube with not full contact of full film with chemisty ? - can be problem to load film at full darkness with gaps between coils. - can be problme with IR light. Not all type of plastic can protect from IR light. I can recommend to glue of aluminum foil from outside surface of tube. - I think, need special support or device or frame for winding of film on tube. Any case, this idea need develop.

Theoretically, this is can be possible. I don't have a information about conversion of 16OPF-1-2M lens on Arri PL, but, i know about conversion on Arri PL 16 OPF-12-1M 10-100 mm zoom lens with similar lens mount. I can give you more detailed information on answer at private letter.

I recommend to check information about Kinor-16 SX-2M camera too. Russian, professional 16 mm reflex cine camera with " classic " mirror shutter disk, 30 m, 120 m quick change film magazines, electrical motor can be upgrade on crystal sync speed with speeds 5..60 fps, mono lens mount . Russian OKS Prime lenses 6...300 mm, Russian zoom lenses OPF 7.5-75 mm, 10-100 mm, 12-120 mm. Can be upgrade on Super 16 and Arri PL lens mount.

Yesterday, i read of new topic about new magazine SmallFormat with information of new article of russian 16 mm professional cine camera Kinor-16P and I recommend of my customers to read of this article. Kinor-16P rare cine camera and can be very interested for filmmakers from side of new style of design of 16 mm cine camera and from side of next generation of russian professiona cine cameras. The original Carl Zeiss Opton 18 mm lens have Arri PL lens mount with thickness of " washer" 2.00 mm with facet (bevel) from camera side 1x45', lens side 0.5x45'. If you need other dimensions, send me personal letter.

I Don't know about 7222 films, but, i had a similar experiments with russian Svema B&W negative, print, sound, micro films. The Svema negative films, processed by reversal techology show me not high result. But, after consultation with guys from Svema, i understand why. Svema B&W negative films have special antihalation, (non-halation) layer and this layer show like light-struck film after re-exposing procedure with bulb and film have high value of minimum density and don't had light tones. The guys from Svema recommend me to do of re-exposing at IR light. And the result was better. But, the low intensivity of IR lighters ask of long time of re-exposing. I think to test with chemical re-exposing too. I receive of good result with print films ( Svema MZ-3 )and Sound films ( Svema ZT-8 ) and special films for microshooting ( Svema Mikrat-200, Mikrat-300 ). Yes, of course, the print films and sound film have low speed, but, reversal processing can augment of final speed of film. I have good result with ORWO DP-3 film and had final speed for shooting near 20..25 ASA. Sound films show me high contrast.

Hi Lee. Your Kinor-16 camera have modified motor 29EP-1414 with input polarity protection. That's why, if you connect battery with reversal polarity, the motor not will work only. About " Schumacher IPD-1800 Instant Power Jump Starter With Docking Station " "Product Description This instant power charger comes with a 12-volt, 18 amp-hour maintenance-free lead acid battery. It assures ample starting power for extreme conditions and has easy to read LEDs for battery charge status; red indicating low charge, yellow indicating medium charge, and green indicating full charge. It also includes a built-in halogen light for emergencies. " As for me, this is plastic box with SLA battery inside and additional electronics, charger, wires. You can rear : " 12v 18amp-hour maintence -free lead acid battery ". I think, iniside set of of battery similar of CSB GP 12170 12v 17ah http://www.csb-battery.com/english/01_prod...id=5&pid=13 If you think to use of this battery for Kinor only. This batteryy can have too big power. Kinor need of 2.5..3.5A and time of running of Kinor motor can be 17:2.5 = 6.8 hours. or 5000 m of film. 17 ah big power, but, big weight too and every filmmaker must choose of best ratio between power and weight of battery. I recommend use of 12 v 7 ah, 4 ah SLA batteries and this power good for run of Kinor. I prefer to have two low power batteries, from, one but, with big power. If you think to use of this battery like " Jump starter " of car - this bluff. The battery must give 500..650A at starter mode, 12v18ah battery can give you 80A at 5 minutes with output voltage 1.6 v/cell. That's why, this battery can charge a some battery only, but, can't start of car engine. The additional lighter can be good device. About use of male cigarette to female xlr adaptor. The electrical motor of Kinor camera have 4 pin XLR socket with pins ( XLR male body socket ). The power cord must have female cable socket from motor side. You can use of this power cord, if the cental contact of male cigarette plug will have wire with pin 4 ( + )of XLR socket and body contact of cigarette plug will connect with pin 1 ( - ). If you will need my consultation, You can send me ULR of other devices. But, i not recommend to connect of Kinor motor with cigarette socket of car with running engine. The generator of car can give high voltage , short time pulses and other alias and car's generator can influence on electronics of Kinor's motor and value of crystal sync speed.

Arri 435, Arri SR16 can load of this speeds. The many rent companies have HMI lighters with electronic ballast "flicker free ". We use of speed of shooting 25 fps and PAL telecine. But, you can use of 24 fps speed and 172.8 angle of shutter disk and you will have full sync with 50 Hz main power lighters. Or speed 30.556 fps. angle 110 degree or speed 29.167 fps and angle 105 degree. You can rent of car's electric power station and set of 48 Hz in voltage generator. I must underline, NTSC video equipments super rare on Ukraine, we use of PAL video equipments. The telecine service can be at Moskow ( Salamandra or other ) or in Europe. We have telecine service in Kiev, but, have problem with processing of film. You can rent of any equipments in Ukraine and can cooperate with regional crews.

And additional. If you have disanamorphic viewfinder of 1M/2M version, the viewfinder have additional part on body ( on tube, special connector of 1M/2M viewfinder lock ) of viewfinder and if you will install of 1M/2M version on KSR-1 ( KSR-1M ) cameras , you need take away of this part on body. This is very easy, need unscrew a few small srews on this part and part can be take away easy. KSR-1, KSR-1M version of viewfinder can have special adjustable ring on body ( on tube ) of viewfinder. This is ring will abut against on body of camera and fix of position of viewfinder inside body of camera.

Dear users of Konvas cameras with 15EPSS motor. The original version of 15EPSS motor have analog system of speed stabilization with a few fixed speeds and power unit with 8.5v battery. The many users ask about upgrade of 15EPSS motor on crystal sync speed version. That's why, we create a few projects of upgrade of motor and wish ask of users to choose of better version and ask to tell a personal opinions about this versions. The project 15EP-2101 founded on the original motor module of 15 EPSS motor without modification and have new power unit with 4 pcs of 12 v batteries ( 48v ). The power unit have two crystal sync speeds 24 and 25 fps and variable speed 8..32 fps ( non crystal sync ). The power unit have " no-Sync" light and sound alarm, " battery low " signal, soft start and soft stopping. The motor module compatible with original power unit of 15EPSS motor and you can use of motor module with crystal sync speed unit 15EP-2101 or with original 15EPSS power unit. The next project 15EP-1414 founded on the modified motor module of 15EPSS motor. This is modification included of additional optical encoder. The power unit can have a few crystal sync speeds, 6 speeds, 10 speeds, 16 speeds ( similar of modifications of 17EP-16APK motor ) and can have speeds : 6.25, 8, 12, 12.5, 15, 16, 16.6, 20, 24, 25, 30, 32, 33,3, 40, 48, 50 fps.
