Hi. About Super 16 modificsation of Kinor-16 camera. If we not wil told about technical problems ( re-centering of optical axis of lens mount, re-centering of groun dglass, set new rollers on film magazine ), you can have other problem - Kinor-16 camera have lenses design for " norma-16" film size and zoom lenses not cover Super 16 size on all range of zoom. I make a some sinply test with 10-100 mm zoom lens and had result of cover Super 16 on range near 25..100 mm. (Possible, my test not precision too much ) The prime lenses 50 mm, 75 mm, 100 mm will cover Super 16, because, the optical clocks of this lens take from 35 mm cine cameras. That's why, if you wish have Super 16, you need think about lenses. The Super 16 size cover Elite Optics , Optar Illumina and other West brand name lenses. But, this lenses have high price. About video assistance. The any video assistance can have two base category. The video assistance instead of viewfinder, or video assistance must work with viewfinder. The viewo assistance instead of viewfinder not big problem. The Kinor-16 viewfinder have jettisonable magnifier from prism ( 4 screws only ). And you can set CCD video camera with macro lens. You can set CCD video camera instead of full viewfinder too, You need unscrew two screws and disconnect viewfinder. The second type of video assiatnce more complex. You need set semi-transparent mirror and divide light on CCD camera and viewfinder. The viewfinder of Kinor-16 camera have one mirror, what you can replace on semi-transparent. But, need design body of attachment, connect with viewfinder and other. Possible, anybody have other idea connect video assistance. This is optical diagram of Kinor-16 camera. Peleng 8 mm lens have 4 rear filters: - compensative, on lens - UF - Orange O-2.8x - Green YG-1.8x This is spceial rear filters for Peleng and other filters i don't know. You can take any neutral density or compensative Gelatin filters, cut circle and set between rear glass of lens and rear compensaive filter. But, Peleng lens have field distortion and you know about this. Hi. Foma have very good B&W reversal 100 ASA film. This is film can be process at home on spiral tanks. Foma delivery D8, DS8, 16 mm film only. Yes of course, this is very good, if you have D8 or DS8 camera. You shoot film from two sides ( by two way of exposing ), processing and split after processing before edit of film. But, If you have Super 8 camera you can use DS8 film too. You need cut DS8 film on two Super 8 stripes by D8/DS8 film splitter on darkness. After, you load Super 8 stripe to Super 8 reloadble film cartridge and use for shooting with Super 8 camera The more infromation about home film processing you can see on my site.

Krasnogorsk-3 camera with M42 screw mount can use original zoom lens Meteor-5 17-69 mm and other lenses with M42 screw mount from 35 mm SLR photo cameras Pentax, Zenit. But, you will have a some problem find wide angle lenses for 16 mm shooting, because, photo cameras have not many wide angle lenses. You can use Peleng 8 mm, 16 mm, But, Peleng lenses have big distrotrion. Krasnogorsk-3 camera with bayonet mount can use original zoom lens Meteor-5 17-69 mm, prime lenses from Kranosgorsk-1 camera 12.5 mm, 20 mm, 50 mm, prime lenses from 16SP camera 10 mm, 15 mm, 25 mm, 50 mm, 75 mm. Hi I think, you need answer on base question, What format of output movie you must have. If you know final format you can choose better technology of digital postproduction for you. If you need 35 mm positive copy for cinema show you can use "film-digital- film" technology. You need transfer 35 mm negative by 2k ( 4k) scanner to Dpx ( or OpenEXR or some ) files, edit on computer and print positive copy from digital film on Laser Printer. If you need final movie on video format, digibeta, you can transfer 35 mm negative to video format ( telcine) and edit on computer. Yes, of course, you can use Dpx files from 2K or 4 K scanner, edit on computer and transfer to video format. But, this can be a some over spare quality of input image.

Kinor-16 SX camera can have version "1M", this is camera with turret for 3 lenses, BUT- the mechanism of camera have variable angle of shutter disk 50..170 dergee. Today, the many filmmakers use small angle of shutter disk for trick effect. The front panel of 1M version ( turret ) can be change on front panel from 2M ( one lens mount ) version.

= So, is the camera sound sync or not? Depend from type of motor. Kinor-16 SX-2M can have motors : 1. 29EPSS - 25 fps ( 24 fps possible ) analog system of speed stablization, precision of speed 2.5% ( not crystal sync ), have Pilot-Tone system and can be sync with sound recoder with Pilot signal . Can be modify to multispeed motor with analog system of speed stabilization, or multispeed ( 6 or 10 or 16 speeds ) crystal sync speed, microprocessor controlled system. Hi =I am having a little problem with my K3 camera. At first, need unload film from camera, move off clamping plate of film gate, take aside rollers near cog- wheel. You need check all parts of film track detailed. The scrap of film can jam. Not worry load sprint on full power, spring mechanism have big spare power. Load spring and run camera. You need check position of cogs on cog-wheel. The rollers have groove and cogs must go inside groove. If the rollers or cog-wheel have not correct position, the cog can jam by body of roller. If the camera work good with open rollers, set rollers on work position. Need check gap between cog-wheel and rolles, the film must go easy, but, the gap must be not too big. If the gap will too big, the film loops will lost size. Need check position of cogs and groove on closed position of rollers. The cog-wheel must rotate easy and cogs must not jam. If all OK, need check with film. Take short end of film ( 0.5-1m ), load on film track and run. Need set correct size of film loops. My recommendations - take away plastic guiges of film track, but, this can do camera mechanic only.
