  1. You do not think to use of special portrait cine lenses with short DOF or with DOF control ? or lenses with shift tilt control ? Any optical transformer will give you additional grainy of intermediate ground glass.
  2. 15EPSS motor - analog sync motor of Konvas camera included motor module and power unit module. Power unit module included system of speed stabilizartion and voltage changer from 8 v to 52 v. That's why, power unit ask of big current from battery of 8 v. The piack current can be up to 23 A. That's why, you heed high power battery, 10..16AH. The original battery NKG 8 v 15 ah. But, original battery do not available now. You can have a few versions to choose of battery. This can be 6 v 12 ah SLA battery, but, you will have speeds up to 24 fps only and speed 24 fps do not will have spare power for good stabilization. Other idea, to order of upgrade of 15EPSS power unit for 6 v battery, the all speeds will work fine and will have good spare power. DO NOT USE OF 12V battery, you can burnd down of power unit electronics. You can connect of 6 v 10..15 Ah SLA battery for test of 15EPSS motor. The speed 16 FPS and less must be sych correct. You need disconnect of motor from camera, connect battery , to set of switch of speed on 16 fps and run of motor. And, if you press on manual handle rotation of motor, the speed of motor do not must change. If the speed of rottaion will change, power electronic broken and need repair. 15EPSS power unit have varuiable resistors for adjust of every speed. If the variable resistor set on wrong posintion, the speed will have other value, but, the stabilization of speed must be.

  4. As for my point of view, a some strange border of ground glass. I see of additional marks. You can send me PM on olex.camera@gmail.com and i can send image of original border of ground glass. from other side, I see of geometrical error, border do not have of right-angled view. This is do not mask of viewfinder. Need check of position of all mirrors. At first, i recommed to take away of viewfinder, you can see ground glass by hole of viewfinder mount. Can you see of full ground glass ? If not, need check positions of mirrros inside body, If yes, you need adjust of position of mirrors inside viewfinder. The parallax of ground glass at vertical - mirror inside viewfinder. The paralax of ground glass at horizontal - mirrors iniside body. But, if you have big value paralax, can be problem with any mirrors.

  6. Sorry, May be. i understand do not full, but, i think, you told about complex and a mistaken technology. If you think, what Konvas viewfinder very complex at adjust, i wish know your opinion about Arri viewfinder adjusting. Do not need "perfectly horizontal on the tripod". This is procedure need for adjust of disanamoprhic viewfinders only. Spherical viewfinders adjust about a boders of ground class. The viewfinder of all Konvas cameras - very reliable, simply, high bright and high sharpness. If you have any problem with viewfinder, need repair at service lab only. The ground glass of Konvas cameras set on one surface of glass prism. The prism set inside prism holder and fix on body of camera by two scriws and two pins. The body of prism do not move at any case. The next - body of viewfinder track with two mirrors. If the body of camera do not droping, the body with mirrors will OK too. If the body of mirrors displaced , need repair at service lab only with " sample viewfinder ". The next device - viewfinder. The viewfinder have adjustable main mirror inside with big screw for fix of position of mirror. This is device possible adjust with special tools only. If you do not have special tools, you will have a some " headache" to adjust of position of mirror correct. The next - mirror inside viewfinder, This is device set hard and can need very small adjusting. The viewfinder have mechanism of change mask's position. May be, you have problem with mask's control ? The next - mechanism of focusing of viewfinder and mechanism of control of viewfinder blades. Any case, if you have more question or need help , can send me PM.   7. I agree of opinion of Matt about russian 35 OPF-29-1 zoom lens 25-80 mm. Thsi is very good lens. This lens can have rear adapter 1.4x - 35-112 mm and rear anamoprhic adapter 50-160 mm. But, this is rare lens and do not cheap. From other side, i can recommend cheap and very good russian zoom lens Foton 37-140 mm. Foton zoom lens can have OST-18, OST-19, Arri PL lens mount, have small size 190 mm and low weight 0.77 kg. As for me, this is best choose for Konvas camera for documentary shoots. I think, this can be good choose for RED too. LOMO 35OPF-9-1, 35OPF-16-1 zoom lens 25-100 mm T4.2 193 mm, 2.3 kg The next idea, Vario Eliter - 50-150 mm modern zoom lens of Elite Optics company can have anamoprhic rear adapter 100-300 mm. or other zoom lenses of ELite Optics: Elite 17-35 mm T2.8 l=121 mm 1.5 kg Elite 24-82 mm T2.8 l=203 mm 1.5 kg

  12. I like russian RUS universal projector. This is N8/S8 projector, quartz-halogen bulb 12v 100 W, variable speed, can be upgrade on system of speed stabilization, compact, cheap.

I use of Eclair ACL camera with CA- Kinor-16 lens mount adapter and russian super wide angle lens 6 mm, zoom lens 16OPF-12, 7.5-75 mm, 10-100 mm and russian prime lenses from 10 mm up to 300 mm. Other question, you sure, what Schneider 6-66 mm device a super 8 camera - full zoom lens ? May be, this is front zoom attachment with c-mount ? The matter is that, we had russian Super 8 cine camera Quarz 1x8S-2. Quarz 1x8S-2 have prime lens 12 mm inisde body and front zoom attachment 9 -38 mm with C-mount. The front zoom attachmnet can be use with Quarz camera only or with any other prime lens as of front optical attachmnet only and can't be use like full zoom lens with C-mount. The designer choose of C-mount like of connector with two optical blocks only. That's why, I recommed to check of Schneider 6-66mm . From other side, If the Schneider 6-66mm full zoom lens of Super 8 cine camera, this zoom lens do not cover of size of 16 mm cine camera. I know this, becuase, to check of size of circle of image of many russian Super 8 and 16 mm lenses. If you will have 16 mm cine camera, you need choose of 16 mm lenses too. A some 16 mm lenses ( tele prime lenses ) can cover of Super 16 film gate too, because, a some 16 mm lenses can use of optical blocks of 35 mm cine cameras. Any case, need test of this lens on size of circle of image.
  14. I don't had personal experience to use of Hawk anamorphic lenses, but, i use of russian LOMO anamoprhic lenses with 16 mm cine cameras. And, I had very good result on footages. I know abot high quality of Hawk anamorphic lenses and can imagine of quality of image of Hawk anamoprhic 16 mm lenses too.

  16. I support of this idea, but, the owner do not say any about full name of lens, fix or zoom and other. It's a metal body or plastic body of lens ? If we told about prime lens the lens must have waterproof front and rear optical blocks before and after aperture mechnaism. The mechanism of aperture control can be re-lube and oil can ingress on glass surface. My other idea - moist (humid air) inside waterproof optical block. But, it's can be , if you carry lens from cold ( -5..10 C ) to indoor. Yes, of course, need optical technician for inspect of lens. If this oil on glass surface, need professional optical cleaning and do not destroy of MC.
  17. Yes, of course, the rate of price of K-3 and work of 16 mm cine camera incredible. That's why, the guys, to compare of price of K-3 with price of other cameras choose of K-3. What you say, if you receive of 16 mm professional cine camera with technical features of Arri SRI, SRII, but, price, like doubled price of " normal " K3 ? And this real, this is Kinor-16 SX-2M. You worry about battery, all correct, but, after you run of 10 pcs of 100 ft rolls you will have big hand pain. The spring will need load and this is do not comfortable process. The idea about to save money, K-3 have daylight film spools. You lost a near 1.5 m of film at procedure charging and discharging of film into camera. 400 ft film rolls and film magazine more comfortable. If you wish have real small size 16 mm cine camera, i can recommed to check information about russian Kiev-16 E, this is 100 ft film magazine camera, with electrical motor ( 6 pcs of AA accumulators, set inside camera ), C-mount, size of camera 190 x 165x 60 mm, weight 2 kg. This is real spy cine camera. Other idea- Kiev-Alpha cine camera, 100 ft daylight spools, mechanical spring motor, C-mount. Size and weight less of K-3 camera. Other - Kiev-16 UE, 100 ft daylight spools, electrical motor, can use AA accumulators inside of motor, 3 lenses on turret 12,5 mm, 20 mm, 50 mm. Special, orighinal screw mount. To have reversal trace and additional frame counter. Can have mechanical drive with maximum speed 64 fps. If you will have ideas about home film processing, i can help, because, to have long time experience of film processing at home.
  18. I can propose of other ways. 1. Kinor-16 SX-2M camera, upgrade of original motor on motor with time lapse. (I can do this upgrade.) 2. any other 16 mm cine camera, like russian studio 16 mm 16SK-2, with registration pin, DC motor, and to upgrade of motor control on crystal sync speed conrtol with time lapse. ( I can do this upgrade ). 3. Any other 16 mm mechanical cine camera with signle shootin mode : Krasnogrosk-1,2,3, Kiev-16 U, Alpha-16. But, all of this cameas do not have of registration pin and value of frame stobilityy do not high from value of profesional cine cameras with registration pin.

After a first shoots with K-3, you will have request to use of wide angle lens, after, you will wish to install of electrical motor, after, to install of crystal sync electrical motor, after, to ask about 120 m film magazine.

Yes, of course, you can replace without all other procedures, but, i do not sure, what the sharpness image on froun glass will have sharpness image on film. As for me, the shutter disk of K-3 cameras, show like a scratched, this is do not full mirror like of mirrors of professional cine cameras. As for me, If you do not can use of K-3 with this mirror disk, to change of K-3 camera. I think, the procedure of replace will have more high price from price of new K-3 camera. May be ground glass dirty ?
  21. The problem with light meter - is standar problem of K-3 cameras. Krasnogorsk cameras have primitive circuit of light meter, this is : photo resistor- on-off switch, ballast resistor, indicator, battery and mechanical system of load of speed of film by truns of indicator, by levers and disk with screws. If you send me letter on my private email, i can send you circit, images and other. The photo resistor lost of sensitivity at long time of storage. The cameras made at 90 yeras and lost of sensitivity of photo resistor - natural functor. What you can do: 1. to set two 1.5 v batteries inside of battery module of camera and to check - niddle will moving ? the photo resistor can read of any light ? If the light meter will run, you can re-calibrate of speed film scale. If the light meter give no sign of life, all other proceudure can be with open of mechnaism plate of camera, at camera repair lab. If you open of mechnaism plate, you will need check of indicator , photo resistor - separately. If the indicator - OK, photo resistor change of resistance at change of value of light, you need replace of ballast resistor on resistor with other value of resistance. But, I must underline, the procedure of openning of mechnaism plate will ask of procedure of adjust of position of film rollers, cog's wheel and can be problem for begginers. That's why, if i can choose, i prefer to use of external light meter, from idea to re-assemble of mechnaism of camera. From other side, i must underline, original light meter of K-3 camera have low precision, have effect of "blindness" and can show you wrong result of measuring at 90% of cases. The modern, high speed films ask of precision value of light measuring, and i recomed to use of external, modern light meter. If you wish, i will glad to continue of this discuss at personal letters.
  22. You sure, what this is Kinor 70 mm ? As for me, this is slow like Konvas 1KSSH-R 70 mm camera. ( at russian show like 1KCIIIP). Lens mount have 3 blades.
  23. I have a some informaion about Kinor-7P camera. As for my information, this is last design of Russian series of professional cine cameras. This is cameras manufactured at super low lot or experimental lots only. The original name Kinor-35-7P, 7KCP. The camera use for hand held or tripod held shooting with B&W or color film. Can be use at outside studio or inside studio shooting… Designer, Moskow design office “ Kadr”. Manufacturer “ Moskinap- NPO “ Kadr”. The first lot must be make at 1989. The first Kinor-35-7P deliver on Central studio of documentary films ( Moskow ) at 1987. The camera design by order of documentary filmmakers and filmmakers from Central studio of documentary films of Moskow. The specialists from CSDF to take part in create of this project. Low noise camera, 36-38 DB (advertising list ), The user manual wrote : 35 Db inside soft cover and 40 db without cover. Original electronics have crystal sync speed 24 fps and 25 fps, variable speeds ( non crystal sync speed) 1-36 fps . The speed control can be with build in crystal oscillator or outside power signal 50 HZ or outside TV signal. ( similar idea use at Kinor-35H cameras and other ). The shutter disk 172.8 degree.
