  1. No you can't. John Lasseter said in an interview that they get it right during pre production before any animation takes place. Animation is very expensive so they only have one shot to get it right. Literary.
  2. Ok, that's what he means. Well, that's not going to happen. You can try to fool the audience by making them think it looks like film. Your best route would be heavy colour correction and compositing.
  3. What do you mean by film texture or matte texture?
  4. It has been changed again. Now it's Arriflex 16 S. Since I started this thread, the technical information has changed. Twice. Someone in this forum is playing games.
  5. I saw the trailer in the cinema. A film for kids. Not my type.
  6. Paul Thomas Anderson is directing it. I am sure they won't get something like that wrong.
  7. Bringing sexy back? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1560747/technical
  8. The great camera shootout 2011 http://www.zacuto.com/the-great-camera-shootout-2011/episode-one
  9. Jonathan Bel hit the nail on the head. I agree with everything you have said. Film cinematography is not for armatures.
  10. The ARRI D21 looks the best out of all the digital cameras. The look is closer to film. I could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me.
  11. I knew that part you just explained. I just, have this strange fear of numbers. It's ironic because I am good with money.
  12. I failed maths. I need to get my brother to explain this to me.
  13. It is an interesting product for mistakes. It would would nice to see footage and a bigger picture with high resolution of the technology.
  14. I know how you feel. I was also on a shoot and the director took such a long time to setup the shot, and then took even longer to shoot it. He just did not know what he was doing. What should have taken 2 hours to shoot ended up taking 5 hours. There was also no security. People were walking in and out of shots in the background. Kevin Smith said the same thing about his scene in Die Hard 4. What should have taken 1 day to shoot took 5 days.
  15. I believe everyone in this forum knows about insurance. Without it, no one will be working.
  16. I forgot to add. If you can find a TV with 100 Hz refresh rate at a second hand shop then you can shoot at any frame rate. You don't have to sync anything. Take your camera and do a test shoot in the store.
  17. Keith explained it in detail. If you're a student then green screen with after effects is the only choice you have because of costs.
  18. Shoot at a higher frame rate or use LCD and Plasma.
  19. I missed it by two years. Thanks John. At least you replied and informed me.
