  1. No.. that is how Socialism works... just take it ;).... also (as a DP) I did not take either of the routes you mentioned... there are other routes as well. I've never AC'd a day in my life... I was too busy Lighting.
  2. D- Per the rules of this forum, please go to My Controls and change your screen name to your first and last name. The members thank you in advance. :) I use this TENT when loading 16mm.
  3. um, noob and Director of Photography are contradictory terms when describing oneself. The Director of Photography is one of the if not [the] most experienced person on Set.
  4. The bottom shelf looks way to narrow. I recommend this Jr. Cart from Filmtools.
  5. May your exposures be sure and your neg never scratched! Happy 2010!
  6. I wager Post. After all, look at how much they invested in the opening sequence so a little perspective shifting was probably thrown in. btw.. the Mesmerizer would not give you that effect.. the Mesmerizer looks more like bad mushrooms... in a good way
  7. With the CE unit you are stuck with predetermined Exposure Times. With he Norris, however, you can do whatever you want. I often do 15 second exposures! You can't do that with the CE. Also the Norris takes all the stress off your Camera's Motor. Gotta love the Norris.
  8. Try and find a Norris Intervalometer ;) Here is a related Thread
  9. My SR2 did exactly that... on the left side of frame and Camtec said it was a timing issue. They adjusted it and I have never seen that since..... Here is a screen grab showing it. It is tough to see when not in motion but there it is... the same thing but on the left side. They said the mirror and movement were a touch out of sync.
  10. Cody, Per the rules of this Forum, please go to My Controls and change your screen name to your first and last name. The Members thank you in advance. :) Sometimes if the Shutter/ Movement is out of sync you can have what looks like a Flare or Soft Focus on the right or left edges of Frame... I am just throwing this out as I can not see what you are describing in that Still. All I see is what looks like a lens Flare from the sun.
  11. Probably the same reason the NBA does not represent the population as a whole...
  12. Take the lamp more 'side-y'... use some diffusion to soften the shadow. There are two sources lighting that shot. One is the fill which looks pretty much straight on then a brighter Key from the camera left side. Notice it does not reach her left eye? One note... shadows are part of life. Use them.
  13. Paul, we call it that here in the States as well. David M. just didn't use it but I am sure he knows it as a Vertigo Shot. (They) make a geared mechanism that zooms in accordance with the Dolly movement so you don't have to do 20 - 50 takes to get it perfect ;)
  14. I use this trick as well... but it is usually my 2k Zip just under lens with only one Globe (Bulb) burning.
  15. Finish your education. Get Film Lighting
  16. That item will NEVER sell for that price. Merry Christmas everyone!
  17. You create blacker blacks by lighting brighter to create contrast. Instead of lighting your talent to say a 2 or 2.8, you light to a 4, 5.6 or 8 etc to create a greater difference in what is lit from what is not. This creates more contrast. Get This Book Sent from my iPhone.
  18. "You said it brother... wait, YOU said that?" This is exactly why I never saw another Star Wars after the original. I bought my son the first trilogy and believe me that is the only three he will get! Hilarious, but should have this warning!
