  1. What Domino and Man on Fire? Are you crazy? Just kidding. Although I think it worked better in Man on Fire than Domino. A Very Long Engagement Far From Heaven Dark City Bound
  2. Hope it shows up at a store near me or on Netflix soon. I've been waiting to see it mostly for David's work on it.
  3. I like the shots of the snowy woods, creepy. Where is this shot?
  4. Very nice, Peter. Images look to have good contrast.
  5. In my experience the term lens breathing is when the camera tries to focus on its own. In the manual mode it would try to pull its own focus and the focus moves like a breath for a bit. This is on the XL-1 though and I was told was because the camera needs to be cleaned.
  6. The scenes in "Jennifer's Body" I really liked were the ones in the classroom that J.K. Simmons' character taught in. The afternoon light coming through the window onto the chalkboard looked great. I also liked the abandoned street set-up.
  7. I'm a film student and I am going to do some camera tests with some color filters I just got. Does anyone have any suggestions to make the best use of my class time while I do this. I don't want the image to be completely washed out in green or yellow for example. Should I stop up or down to reduce the color's intensity? I also have some ND filters, CPL, and FDL filters if it would help to use them together. I will be shooting an interior scene and don't want to use gels on the lights for any additonal color. The camera is a Cannon XL-1. I want to learn to do more color on set and stop color correcting in post so much. Thanks, Dean
  8. If you can afford it and feel as though you will learn $250 worth of knowledge go for it. You might want to try putting yourself into hard editing situations on your own and figure the answers out, be like real world experience. Have you talked to your teachers to see if they have heard anything about this event?
  9. Is the chimera something that looks like a design like tree branches or venitian blinds? Is there anyway that the patchwork could be worked into the design?
  10. A water can could work for rain on the window being shown, might be hard to make it look like it's raining off in the distance. Steam, figure out which temperature controls in the car ( AC or Heat) make the windows fog up based on the outside weather. For lighting the push button, stick on lights they sell could work. If you're going to use the light from the gauges inside the car in the day time, get some glow sticks. Place them inside the dash or close to the actor to look like it's from the dash. Find orange ones for the top light. But shooting in the day light might be harder to light for this than just shooting at night. Good Luck
  11. Do the particles need to sink into the water? If not shaved pieces of styrofoam would float and be easy to skim off the top of the water.
