Thanks Nicholas, your post is great, It is true that many digital fundamentalists do not know exactly what they say, but they always try to imitate film, very bad indeed.

Hey, here's a discussion on another forum, if possible match the video look to the film, I found interesting and my opinion is not. http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?326143-Can-your-camera-match-Super-8-film

This video is wonderful, the best I've seen in the use of super 8 today, thanks for sharing. .
-
Super 8 is great for some things, but this is throwing away money.

I may be many things, camera, film, scanner ... is only going to test and discard. My zm2 4008 and especially the 1014 canon, do much better image stability. I usually shoot hand but I've done tests with tripod and pressure plate and the image of the Canon is very stable, seems to 16mm.

BMD Pocket Cinema Camera Lens Suggestions?
Jose luis villar replied to Ernie Zahn's topic in BlackMagic Design
This is all shot with 0,72 Speedbooster and Samyang 16mm f 2.0, what I've noticed is a bit of chromatic aberration and softening on the sides. -
Thanks Jean Louis, I will consider whether there ds8 stock in the future.
-
With negative Vision3 and a good lens to the film, there is enough difference between a scan hd or sd. It is also important where to transfer.
-
Ds8 is a good format, the problem is that there are very few cameras.
-
It seems a very artificial result, appears in a video camera recorded 15 years ago.
-
I think the most important thing for this camera is Vision3 negative stock and is only 15 meters cartridges.
-
Hi Matteew, clearly, a 16 look better than a s8, physics is crucial, but good s8 negative scan can fool the eye.
-
Hey Matt, thanks, many s8 seen on youtube and vimeo have the defect of not showing what little movie s8 really do.
-
This is a frame from s8, not Max8, scanning 8ypico in 1080 and reduced to 720 widescreen.
-
1080p is enough to then reduce to 720p, is the resolution that looks good s8.
-
Yes, it's the new camera super8 Logmar, http://www.logmar.dk/
-
In my experience the best is http://ochoypico.com/super8-telecine/ , although you are EEUU but the world, today can be very small. look this: Another, may be gammaraydigital.com and example, https://vimeo.com/87243287

I found this and signed. http://www.savefilm.org/frontpage/guillermo-navarro-statement/

I think the first reason to shoot reversible, is for s8 projection.

Hey guys, looks like we have a new stock s/w s8, ADOX CHS 100 II. The link here, http://www.wittner-cinetec.com/katalog/04_filmm/s8_filmm.php
-
I also want to get it, but first want to know if Kodak will continue to produce s8.
-
The only hope is Ferrania ...
-
Hi Harry, the Wittner 200d is too grainy for super 8, nothing comparable to what was 100d, i shot once and never again.

Has WILLARD ENGINEERING stolen my camera? Seems so.

I'm glad you were able to contact people who repair our beloved cameras, today are often older people and it is normal that sometimes are ill.
