  1. A sample of some recent work, most shot in HD but also on Super 8 film format, there's even a sequence that used a LomoKino camera. There are also some 3D. https://vimeo.com/77797742
  2. They talked of starting with an reversal emulsion , Scotch Chrome 100. Look here: http://www.filmferrania.it/blog/
  3. Hi all, Does anyone know if the Ferrania project continues to take? It seems that there is a silence on his blog since early August.
  4. Hi Anthony, current vision 3 is a marvel in s8 if this scan well. I think s8 is further than 16, I myself want to sell my cameras 16 and s16. If I want sharp image with Alexa or RED, HDSLR still have no budget. To my s8 has the spirit of the old film. I think the new camera Lasse may interest some people.
  5. Hi Erkan, Bordeaux is a true small Paris, beautiful and wonderful people. It is also true that we talked about two different cameras and, more importantly, different lenses. But the conclusion is that in some cases the pressure plate makes a difference.
  6. In my experience the pressure plate on a 4008 Beaulieu gives excellent results. In this film you can see the difference between Beaulieu 4008 with pressure plate and Canon 1014xls without it. The scenes are sharper with Beaulieu and there is a shot, 1:18, you see the problem with 1014xls. https://vimeo.com/69642459
  7. I think that the most important in the sale of a new camera S8 is their reliability, that works well and not problems. The video display for me is secondary, if I want to shoot a serious work with much production and the client on my back, I will do it in digital. This is only my thoughts.
  8. With respect to the design, I do not seem bad to look like a Leicina. The most important thing will be the final price of the product.
  9. Hi Lasse, this is fantastic very interesting product.
  10. It still looks great ,Ektachrome 100d, reversible films usually show worse in digital scanning. https://vimeo.com/70087779
  11. another fantastic clip. https://vimeo.com/39152422
  12. This clip look like very good for me. https://vimeo.com/14513646
  13. I agree that if you shoot beautiful things or people is more appreciated. Regarding sharpness are three important things to me: The lens of the camera used, I think the Beaulieu 4008 ZM2 is best in super 8. The telecine is very important, even more so than the camera lens. I do it with Ochoypico, I think is one of the best you can find one and also what I have around. Post production is also important to get a good look. I use Neat Video and some unsharp mask. Thanks for viewing.
  14. Several things can cause more or less grain. I have observed that the development is important. Also the telecine process and post production. The example shown, does not seem excessive grain but, if you want to decrease NEAT VIDEO is a good thing. Some grain is also nice, this is film not video.
  15. This is a fashionfilm I've shot on super 8 with Kodak Tri-x. The cameras used are Canon Beaulieu 4008 and 1014 xls ZM2. Beaulieu shot with the sharpest look, I think it's the lens. The telecine has been done by Ochoypico. https://vimeo.com/69642459
  16. This film has a lot of grain for super 8. However, with a bit of post production, noise reduction and sharpening, can look better, but the best for telecine is the negative Kodak Vision 3. The thing is that this film is mainly for fans of the projection, In this case it is an acceptable alternative. For scanning, Kodak Vision 3 is the way to go. https://vimeo.com/68868281
  17. Hi David, i think it's a good transfer, and demonstrates the possibilities of the Vision 3 Super 8. The only thing I want to say is that maybe it's better to apply a little less noise reduction, do not forget that this is film and not video. And thanks for the test.
  18. I have also seen the colored lines to the edges. I think it's no sharpening, is rather due to chromatic aberration during the transfer process.
  19. In the super 8's two different worlds, the nostalgic who like to project their films and people like me, who use it for their work as a means other than digital, even if you will be at the end in that format. For the first reversal film is a necessity, in the case of the second negative is essential. The main question is how long Kodak will continue with film making.
  20. Hi Jayne, I bought two batteries from this seller and I am very happy. http://www.ebay.es/itm/BEAULIEU-4008-Battery-ACCU-1600-mA-Ni-Mh-Re-cell-NEW-/161019946211?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186&hash=item257d8964e3
  21. The metal FrameMaster in my Beaulieu 4008 works well , but not in the Canon 1014 and 814 xls. Somewhere I read that did not work well on all cameras.
  22. Marc, for technical questions about the scan, I will say that from tomorrow ochoypico forum to explain. With respect to the post, basically consists of cleaning a little grain image and applying unsharp mask. In the case 50d is minimal, because it is very sharp and without grain. Regarding the question of how to shoot the v 50d, I did a 40 asa to minimize grain.Vimeo'm going to a small video in which you see the movie before and after the post. I'll put the link when finished.
  23. In my 1014 did not work well, got stuck, I do not know if it will at all. Anyway 1014xls stability is very good.
