  2. Thanks for your very good informations. But now, I dont know any use of DI process, or bleach by pass. Why they used hand cranked IIC ? Over & under in hand held camera work is for DI or IIC or.....?
  3. I saw MAN OF FIRE yesterday on dvd .I am very pleased with artistic work of Paul cameron. In searching I can not find any article about cinematography of it.The only article which I know ; in ICG magazine is not available on line Do you have any information about the technique of cinematography? Negatives.......Cameras.......Process in lab........or...... Will be thank for your consideration.

  8. John Alcot photographed BARY LYNDON in f:0.7 with pushing one stop. We have many experiences in low f:stop.I work many in f:2 but at this stop *Cannot see the contrast by eye. *Little depth of field can limit the actors. Now do you have any experiences in f:1.4 for a big sequences in film , with different range of lenses. What is your problems?...

  10. I means , we change time developer for PUSH & at that time changing PH may be reducing contrast .
  11. Dear John When we push we want to increase ASA ,not decrease it (pull) The best way as dear David says is better to select low contrast stocks. But is there any idea about PH IN CHEMICALS ???....... Thank you for considerations.

  13. In pushing , increasing contrast & grain is obvious.For reducing the contrast, these options are useful or not ? Do you have any suggestions ? *Selecting a low contrast film. *Using of filters like ultracon. *Using of varicon , or flashing. *Do we can change the PH of chemicals and reducing the contrast. Thank you.

" We shot at 200 ASA with the lens stop between 1/4-2/2 " Almendros says . dear Laurent You see the picture attachment of DAYS OF HEAVEN ,this lantern is putted lamp in it and the foot candles of lantern is very high ,but now we wanted to eliminate the lamp and only use the real oil lantern How can we reach this high power of light? Now without using the lamp ,can we take this shot like DAYS OF HEAVEN ? I worked with kodak 500 F 2 without push don,t near this picture.................

  22. Nestor Almendros in his book "A Man With A Camera" says he used lamps in oil lanterns in 1976.He pushed the films and took a good advantage in DAYS OF HEAVEN 30 years ago . I worked with kodak vision 500(5279) in F:2 without pushing and without using lamps in lanterns, but I wasn't very satisfied , with this realistic lighting of lantern .May be I must push or it will be better to put the lamps in lanterns. Do you have any experiences ? or any films or DOPs methods in magazines?....... I will be very glad if it is possible , attach the frame of lighting .....THANK YOU .

  24. I saw in AC magazine about CITY OF GOD .The DP ,,Cesar Charlone was working with Sony GLASSTRON , connected to video assist for better hand helding camera work . Do you have any experiences in glasstron working . Can we buy ? or it is discontinued ..........Thanks
