  1. Bravo Tony. If you need some actors I might know a few actors to talk to.
  2. I'd get the crystal unit for your camera, then simply use a digital audio recorder (I use a minidisc unit, can use one of the solid state units too). I'd also hook up a tone generator that would go off the moment you press the trigger, so you know when to sync up to. Keep the audio running and sync in post. A bit of a headache, but it works.
  3. I'd love it, but could not buy it for another 7 weeks or so. If it's still available then tho, let me know.
  4. Well, was good to see the two others that came by. Sorry to have missed the rest of you. Was funny how I wound up being photographed for 2 different scavenger hunt bits. *shrug* Glad someone wanted my old Keystone to get their start in film. May it serve you as well as it has me for the past 6 years.
  5. I'd be curious, but the finances are too tight due to shipping. Thought of mounting them to my DeVry's.
  6. I have a 100' roll of 35mm if you'd like. I've never finished the work building my two 35mm cams up, so it sits in the freezer still. I still need to get up the courage to slit and load up the Foma DS8 into regular Super8 carts.
  7. Um, you know that's shot in California save for exteriors, and they import their crew.... I've tried to get on set, trust me!
  8. IKWYM, work here is gone. Last position I even heard of was the one I did for $50 a day simply because they were the only one paying anything.
  9. I've seen Beta on film, and Alex is quite correct, if all things are equal (camera, chips, fps, etc) then Betacam SP will look better on film-out.
  10. Indeed they do. Heck, Panavision let me just play with a G2 for hours one time when I was with a feature project (which then later fell apart).
  11. And as you can load Super8 film into a Single8 cartridge, is still good for us.
  12. Simple, Cinemascope requires Anamorphic lenses, but is onto the normal academy film frame. This allows for optical print-outs simpler. Super35 uses the full-frame rather than the academy frame, utilizing the side area normally used by the soundtrack. This is more complex to print, but can utilize spherical lenses.
  13. What are your average rates? Digitizing film to HD isn't cheap, and shooting pure HD is also not cheap, and I have been burned too many times in the past to just jump on anything.
  14. While I'm doing a silent for my piece... Can you handle A+B rolls?
  15. Well, if you pre-edited your film I could see 100' being enough.
  16. Yes, I fully understand that. I have a fullcoat recorder, just having issues sourcing any.
  17. I actually need some of this. How much to ship to US Zip code 33759?
  18. Got a full mailbox error here too. I'd be interested in an editor, as mine bit the dust.
  19. I know a good writer to talk to. I'll let you know.
  20. The wife and I were on the fence for this, as the trailers look damn good, and we both loved Pans Labrynth, but were afraid of being let down after Hancock (good movie, just not as good as we'd hoped).
  21. That is more to how they were lit than anything. If you meter to the highlights and push process it two stops (100T as if 400T) and you should get a good facimile. I'd still recommend shooting with a smaller grade stock (16mm for 35mm) tho. If you were local I'd be happy to do some test shoots for you with my equipment, for better demonstration.
