  1. Shooting on 16mm will give you a somewhat dated look, no matter what lens you use. Happy to be proven wrong but if you are after a “modern” sharp look, digital seems a better choice.
  2. Recently I bought a single Zeiss Distagon T1.3 12mm MkI lens Arri B-mount from Cameramarket in the Netherlands. Herman might have single PL mounts available.
  3. You'll be much happier with the result if you use high quality lenses. Dom's suggestions are what I would go for. It really makes a huge difference. Since you are spending money on film stock, I wouldn't skimp on the glass.
  4. For those who've had thie waveform issue (I haven't), there is apparently an easy fix ?
  5. As I've said, I've not come across that problem. I must be very Resolve wave form-lucky ?
  6. Never had a problem with that. But then I am using the paid for version that cost a couple of hundred quid.
  7. Editing in Resolve is very easy to get the hang off and sounds like a good fit for what you describe. Best to edit a h.264 proxy of your material and then autoconfigure your full res files, ready for grading. Plenty of tutorials online too.
  8. A few screen grabs from the latest footage. I love this little camera.
  9. I stuck tape on a white wall looking through the viewfinder and filmed a few frames. It covers the entire image. Just got some more footage back which I will share soon.
  10. January 4th, 7.25am. No price increase at Frame24, UK. ?
  11. Phil, to be fair, it is Daniel's headline that is implying a conspiracy in regards to this court case (Someday you may be forced to do film work that you don't want to do). Clever fear-mongering since there is no such thing. He has given himself a way out in the first post and has since not contributed, which I find interesting. It did the trick. 134 responses (this one included). Signing off and see you on another thread about Cinematography.
  12. Matthew has managed to tell most everyone here that they “lost” the argument and are “illogical” while continuously contradicting his own arguments. Seriously, you ought to read through this thread and see if you can spot the inconsistencies.
  13. Isn't that exactly the same thing? Saying some are more "celebrated" than others still makes things uneven for others.
  14. Thank you Gregg! Now that you mention this, I remember a few years ago I briefly owned a set of S16 Superspeeds Mk IIs and one Mk III, which all had PL adapters (not sure about the Mk III), but I wasn't sure if I remembered that correctly. I only dabbled in 16mm for a brief period before switching to 35mm. I wish I hadn't sold them since I recently bought a S16 Arri St with an Arri B mount. Now it seems near impossible to find any Mk II B-mounts for sale. I'll keep looking.
  15. Another question: Did the Zeiss Super Speeds Mk II for S16 ever come in Arri B-mount? Or only the Mk I?
  16. Woosh... You have both fallen for Daniel's misleading headline. Nobody is forcing anyone to do work they don't want to do. This is about discrimnation.
  17. Agreed. I wouldn't expect that exchanges like the above one would alter opinions or change the situation, particularly when it comes to religious beliefs and ideologies. This shouldn't stop one from expressing ones opinion occasionally though. In which case you are running the risk of being called intolerant towards the beliefs of the intolerant for wishing that people were more tolerant.
  18. Karim, it is a basic human right to work. Are you sure about that last part of your statement? Apparently there wasn't a law suit. It was the photographer who went out of his way to sue for something that hasn't happened. What does that tell you?
