  1. Interesting. I’ve watched that short before and definitely never noticed any issues. Maybe it runs quieter after modification for super-16? Anyways, thanks for the input.
  2. I'm wondering, where have you seen others using the regular magazines for super-16? I read somewhere that it would scratch the film. I would love to have some extra mags, especially since I broke one of my 200's while trying to get the stupid thing to close haha, but I can't sacrifice the super-16 framing.
  3. M43 is in a sense a modern version of the c-mount: highly adaptable, simple, made for smaller formats. I'd still want to maintain compatibility with PL lenses (I have some PL glass already and also for scenarios when I can rent Ultras), but there are a number of M4/3 to PL adaptors out there (don't know how reliable they are). I wonder if my Les Bosher PL adaptor would still work after the hypothetical conversion? Maybe with some shims. It's a very interesting concept!
  4. Me too! I totally intend to buy if a micro 4/3 adapter ever were made. It would open up a lot of possibilities. Venus Optics 6mm/7.5mm/10mm T2.1, DZOFilm 10-24mm T2.9, Vazen and Sirui anamorphics, Voigtlander 10.5mm/17.5mm/29mm f/0.95, etc. Besides all these lenses being dramatically cheaper than any PL alternatives, they’re also developed with the smaller format in mind, so hypothetically, they would be considerably sharper on super-16 than most super-35 lens. Plus the benefits of faster lenses and wider focal lengths. Okay, I don't have pro levels of money to spend, more so “prosumer.” I just spent a sizable amount on a B4-to-PL adaptor, so I’m not averse to high adaptor costs. Although of course it is always nice to spend less ? (plus I assume this adaptor wouldn't have a glass element which is usually what causes the high cost of some cine adaptors). I’ve definitely seen some interest for such an adaptor online, and considering the dramatically rising price of Super Speeds, it’s very appealing.
  5. Are you referring to the ACL or a hypothetical camera that is similar to an ACL? As far as I've been able to figure out, I don't think there is a way for an ACL to take Micro 4/3 lenses. I would absolutely love a super-16 camera that could take those lenses. Would open up my projects to a lot more possibilities.
  6. B&H has 50D, 200T, and 500T in stock currently, but only 400' rolls. Just FYI.
  7. Sort of off topic, but do you know the reason for the change to 144 in that conversion? My ACL has that super-16 conversion with the 144 degree shutter. Just curious.
  8. That’s unfortunate. Did VP mention if they still do any sort of work/repairs on the ACL?
  9. They mainly modified lenses and sold adapters, though they sold some lenses of their own for very specific use-cases. A high-end production wouldn’t really need anything they were manufacturing, especially shot digitally, so I don’t think they were getting any Netflix business or anything of the sort.
  10. Just saw on their website that they're closing down this year: http://www.abakus.co.uk/. Support on products going forward not guaranteed. Unfortunate to lose another niche cine products manufacturer.
  11. Bump, I can do $2400.
  12. I’m looking to secure a good B4 to PL adapter first, but I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
  13. I also believe there is an adapter from MTF that is similar. I could be interested if you have that.
  14. Let me know if you are selling any Zeiss Digiprimes or Digizooms, especially on the wider end.
  15. A bit of a long shot, but if anyone is selling either of these adapters, message me.
  16. Great info, thanks! I don’t think I’ll be running the camera above 24fps for right now, so I’m probably fine, but any recommendations for somebody who can re-cell the batteries in the US?
  17. Photos: https://imgur.com/a/eJWgG7P I’m selling my Zeiss Super Speed 9.5mm Mk II (for S16) for $2500. Posting it here before it’s on eBay (where it will be more expensive because of eBay’s fees). It’s in very good condition. The aperture is extremely smooth through the whole range, and likewise the focus has no hiccups. No oil on the aperture blades. No fungus. No haze. No scratches or blemishes on the front or back elements. The lens has not been collimated during my ownership of it, but the focus measurements have been accurate during my brief tests. Cosmetically it looks great too. Lettering is bright. Meters and feet. Occasional places were the black finish of the lens has come off a bit. Doesn’t affect lens function at all. It covers the super-16 frame (I’ve looked through it with my super-16 converted Eclair ACL). Comes with caps. PL mount as is normal with a Mk 2. On the rim of the lens, the previous owner engraved a name. Obviously doesn’t affect the function or quality of the lens. Photo included. I’m looking for $2500 (net to me, so you pay $2575), shipped free in the US. PayPal goods and services only. You can email me at rwzmjl@gmail.com if you need more info, or contact me on this forum. I check regularly for messages.
  18. I didn’t die, though I didn’t get much info out of it. Hard to tell what the batteries are unless I completely took it apart: https://imgur.com/a/HZ7ech8 I think I’ll contact the shop.
  19. Okay I’ll keep a battery dedicated for the ACL and a separate one for everything else. There’s a note on the case that is illegible that could be the mAh. The previous owner is unreachable at this point. Is popping open the battery a safe thing to do? Doing so won’t kill the battery and/or me? Might take out the screws and look at the cells.
  20. …and I just found a male Jaeger to male 4-pin XLR cable (Cannon?) among the ruckus. It’s not a normal cable though—it’s got some sort of chip in the center of it. Maybe some capacitors? (I’m really showing my lack of engineering expertise right now). Covered in yellow tape. Is this possibly a regulated 12V cable? It also has “VCLX” written on it.
  21. By the way, do you know there are two female Jaeger connectors on both batteries? I’ve just been using either one arbitrarily—is it supposed to be one is for charging, one is for power out? Also, when a battery is re-celled, does the battery keep the same mAh capacity? The battery says 1.2Ah, but that was as a NiCd battery. I’m not sure what the current limit is for these batteries after they’re been re-celled with NiMh—I’m setting my charger to .9A current just to be safe.
