  2. Greetings everyone! My name is Derick and I'm new to the forums. I'm a filmmaker based in Philly and I work primarily with super 8 and 16mm film. I recently acquired an Angenieux 12-120mm Type C with the C Mount to use on my Bolex rex 4. Now from my understanding, the type c is made to be RX compatible, which is great. My only question/concern is, all of the images i've seen of this lens online shows the lens with the silver cupped mount with the engraved 'BOLEX RX" or something along those lines. The thing is, mine doesnt have the so called "silver cup" with that engraving. It just seems to be a normal c mount that screws right onto my camera. My question is, is my lens still properly calibrated for the reflex prism although it doesnt have this engraved mount? Were there different variations of the TYPE C lens that were made throughout the years, making mine different but the same as far as collimation? Sorry if this question has been asked before, I just can't seem to find the answer and I dont want to eat up a bunch of film and find out all of the images are soft. Thanks in advance, Derick

So if any of you can offer me a good deal for one, I'd be very happy. I'm located in Germany and willing to pay for shipping. Thank you!

  8. Hello, Newly graduated cinematography student is looking to buy Bolex camera (SB, SBM, EL) at a reasonable price. I'm interested in S16, but because of budget send me message if you have regular 16 Bolex  Or veeeeery cheap Arriflex SR2. Location: Belgrade, Serbia (but I have friend of mine in Berlin, Germany) PM.
  9. Hello, It seems I can't attach my 400ft mag bolex motor to the mag. Position is correct (with the motor cable pointing to the mag) but even pressing strongly the motor remains unlocked and I am not able to turn clockwise. Are there two versions of motors or some part is missing from mine? I attach pictures of both. Marcos
  10. Hello everyone, I will be filming a shortfilm with my H16 EL in a couple of weeks. I am planning to light one interior scene with an HMI 1,2KW and some practical lights. I live in Europe so light is 50Hz. Given that shutter angle is 170º, is there any way to avoid lights from flicker at 24fps or 25fps? (24x360)/170=50,82 If my maths are correct, 24fps would give the closest shutter speed to 1/50. Best, Marcos

  13. Hello Again My Bolex Gurus!!! OK... Have a Bolex EBM - it Runs but only one speed - and pretty fast ,,, not one of the slower speeds... What could be causing this??? How many fuses are on-board/inside the camera? beside the one in the base. It seems I recall seeing a fuse tucked under a circuit board in side the camera. Well would love to hear from someone... Arthur!
  14. Here's a Bayonet Bolex... with carrying handle and motor option... https://www.ebay.com/itm/292595881532?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2648
  15. Hello all you Bolex gurus out there... OK, I have a Bolex H16 REX 5 that threads nicely and seems to be running well. The camera maintains the loop while running with out a take-up reel... But as soon as the take-up reel used the loop begins to be lost. But note not all take-up reels cause this... I switched out take-up reel and some reels work fine and some do not. and it seems to be consistent. any ideas on what causes this to happen? Arthur!
  16. Hi everyone, I'm currently working on setting up my Bolex H16RX5 with a custom anamorphic setup (russian Helios taking lens + Isco Widescreen projection lens + SLR Magic Rangefinder for single focus). In case anyone is interested in this, I will update this post as I continue testing. As of now, I managed to fit the lens without much hassle using a C to EF adapter. No focus issues so far, close focus to infinity seem to work just fine. Will have to find a more secure way of mounting the rods though, but that shouldn't be an issue either. Before I can shoot some tests, I'll have to finish my video assist setup in order to actually see a desqueezed image (http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?showtopic=15423). Will keep you guys posted!
  17. I sell the pearl of my collection. This is already a rare version of a unique camera. Luxurious set with three cassettes 120 meters. The device is working. the price of 5000 euros, I can discuss, but if it does not, I will not worry)
  18. OK sports fans... The reflex on the early REX cameras is so small... I hear complaints that with super 16 it's even smaller... I've made some modifications to increase the size... and so far the works best... can see the full image, almost 10X but not quite... but the larger opening at the eyepiece is what really helps. there's no pinching or distortion in the image.... CHECK IT OUT!
  19. WTB UNDER £1200 Graduate in the summer and would like to shoot my own film on 16mm. Preferably looking for a bolex sbm or rex 5 but don't mind as long as it's reliable! Based in Newcastle/London and willing to travel. Thanks
  20. I’ve created a hybrid… combining 8mm and 16mm parts. I recently discover the joys of the reflex viewer up stream from the lens iris. This allows the image to stay bright, not affected by the iris. So, I took converted super16 and machined out an 8mm film block. The lens’s frame mask was converted to super16 aspect ratio. It all seems to line up… anybody see any potential problems???
  21. Dear friends, I am sorry to part with this camera - but it is necessary! This tool Kingsman. The kit includes a body, an objective (it is capable of 5-), and a motor with 25 FPS The camera needs love, care and work. I checked the motor - it works, but I did not do any footage from this camera. but I do not think that something is wrong with her. I want for her $ 1200, but without a cassette and a bottom handle. Although this is also debatable. http://dom2.tw/ http://dom2.tw/ http://dom2.tw/
