  2. Hello, I couldn't find a 65mm forum so I thought I would share this here. Does anyone know the formula to calculate the amount of time a 1000' mag of 65mm film would run with an 8-perf movement? Chris
  3. Have to admit I'm interested in how this is coming along, even though I'm not a Star Wars fan. Greig Fraser is supposed to shoot this with the 1.25x Ultra Panavision 70 anamorphics rebuilt for The Hateful Eight. He's also shooting on film, and the Alexa 65. So are the lenses being used on 65mm, or on the Alexa 65? Will the ratio be 2.75:1? Is he shooting anything on 35 (like Episode 8 is)? Anybody heard more about it?
  4. Hey guys. Brand new to the forum and i joined specifically because i'm trying to find an answer to this question. Film usually runs vertically threw a camera but a few formats have it run horizontally to achieve a much larger negative. IMAX does this with 65mm and VistaVision does it with 35mm. Is there a 16mm equivalent?
  5. So 65mm has an aspect ratio of 2.20:1, but does it give you a wider horizontal FOV like the anamorphic process does? That is, if I were to slap an 80mm lens on a 65mm camera and a 32mm lens on S35(cropped to 2.20:1) would it give me the same image in terms of spatial compression and horizontal FOV? Or would I have to shoot on a 50mm Anamorphic lens and crop the sides? This is all hypothetical of course-I'm just trying to get a grasp on the 65mm format so I can further appreciate the films that utilized the process.
  6. Im selling a set of 3 ARRI Master Primes. The 18mm T1.3, 32mm T1.3, and 65mm T1.3 are in excellent condition. Never rented. Available for inspection. Location: North Texas, 45 min north of Dallas. Im asking $55,000. The lenses come in a durable Innerspace lens case. Also willing to sell lenses individually. The best way to reach me is by email at: elliotovla@yahoo.com We purchased the master primes in late 2012, so we have had them almost two years. They have not been in for any service. One of the lens caps has a chip in it. Not sure how that even happened, but I included a photo of the plastic cap with its damage. Nothing major. The lens case has some wear, but a small wipe down will get it looking in great condition. I have included photos below.
