B. Sakthidoss
What is the Difference between the Russian Angle and Dutch Angle.
Dan Salzmann
I have never heard of Russian angle as a term to describe any type of camera position or framing. Where did you see or hear this?
Premium Member Rupe Whiteman Posted February 12, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted February 12, 2007 'Dutching' a camera is basically pivoting the camera sideways - you no longer have a level horizon... to do this you either deliberately undo the head and de-bobble it or use a dutch head for more control. Don't know why it's called dutching the camera 'though maybe it's because of all those 'coffee shops' they have. I too have never heard or a 'Russian angle'... Premium Member David Auner aac Posted February 12, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted February 12, 2007 I too have never heard or a 'Russian angle'... Me neither. And from my experience with russian/soviet films there isn't a special camera angle unique or typical to these. What's your source? Cheers, Dave
Nick Mulder
This is in the lighting forum, perhaps Russian Angle is a lighting term in some part of the world ???
Daniel Smith
Might just mean the same thing... people just call it different things. Perhaps it was a Dutchman who started using it...
