JD Hartman
Having seen them up close (friend bought a few), my impression backed up by his actual usage: heavier than necessary, clunky, poor quality in the casting compared to Norms, Matthews, Modern or American. Robin R Probyn
These people in Manchester seems to have been using them enough for a review. Manchester....stolen off an American shoot for sure .. :) Edited February 26, 2016 by Robin R Probyn
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted February 26, 2016 Author Premium Member Share Posted February 26, 2016 That's why they're heavier - it's the north-of-Nottingham bulletproofing.

Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted February 26, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted February 26, 2016 Spotted today in Berkeley, CA at approximately 5pm: A veritable forest of c-stands. Keep your eyes peeled. To be continued...

Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted August 18, 2016 Author Premium Member Share Posted August 18, 2016 Night of the living thread! A used equipment auction recently had ten C-stands going. They didn't meet their reserve and were listed in a clearance sale afterward. They wanted £700 for ten, not including the gobo arms or cart, so I passed. But it does happen. Just not very often. David Peterson
My combos (chinese, too) don't look like there's anything atrociously wrong with them. The clamping mechanism on the baby pin is a bit primitive, but otherwise I've no complaints. They are nearly new, though. Thanks, for some silly reason I'd purchased C stands from Aliexpress but never thought to look for combo stands on there. Well lo and behold, of course they're for sale there as well: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/4m-studio-Combo-Stand-Tripod-Load-20kg-for-Light-2k-5k-HMI-Compact-Par-1-2k/32265490574.html And a smaller one: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2m-Low-Boy-Mighty-Studio-Combo-Stand-Load-20kg-for-Light-HMI-Compact-Par-M18/32263201271.html
Shawn Sagady
I feel so bad for you Phill, I usually have more C-Stands than I know what to do with on even low budget shoots :(
