John Holland
Sofa shot Godfather 2.
Premium Member George Ebersole Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 "Sword of Doom" was also a scope movie... I thought maybe you posted a VHS scan. Final answer; "Throne of Blood", otherwise I'm stumped.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 Yes! Throne of Blood. No, the sofa is not Godfather 2 but same DP...
Premium Member Miguel Angel Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 I don't remember The Parallax View well enough but that sofa might be from it! Maybe?? :D

Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 Three more: This is the first shot after the titles and a brief image of a mural which has the main character's face painted on it.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 Love this game... I don't recognize it but it "feels" like something Harris Savides would shoot, like "The Game" or "Margot at the Wedding", that 70's feeling. But maybe it's an actual 70's movie... Premium Member Justin Hayward Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 Hint: I piggybacked your "Interiors" theme.

Premium Member Justin Hayward Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 Match Point! Yup! One of my favorite movies.
Premium Member Miguel Angel Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 Might be a bit difficult but the director is really well known. I think that Match Point is one of the best movies that Allen has directed ever! and that opening shot summarises the movie so so so well!
Premium Member George Ebersole Posted April 29, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 29, 2017 #2 looks like "The Time Machine" by George Pal.
Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted April 30, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2017 'Amadeus'?
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 30, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2017 Yes, the second one is the first shot of "Amadeus". You're getting a preview of my blu-ray collection...
Premium Member Justin Hayward Posted April 30, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2017 Oh my gosh. I just re-watched that movie on my projector less than a year ago, but that image was still totally confusing. I'm slipping into old age forgetfulness, I guess. Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 30, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2017 I can't place Miguel's but it feels vaguely like a Terrance Malick image... Maybe it's from Fincher's "Gone Girl"?
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 30, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2017 So there are still two from my posts not identified. I'm posting three more -- sorry for doing this all at once but tomorrow I leave for a job where I won't have access to my collection for awhile. I will add that all three were nominated for Oscars for the cinematography.
Premium Member Miguel Angel Posted April 30, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2017 The first shot above could be "Amistad"? The second one feels like "The Reader" or something shot by Nestor Almendros Regarding my frame, it is not Gone Girl. Clue: After directing that movie the director changed his cinematographer and both, the director and the new cinematographer earned two Oscars for the director's following movie. Have a good day! Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted April 30, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2017 Yes, "Amistad" for the first one. I guess that shot could be from "Whiplash" since the director and his new DP both won Oscars for "La La Land"...
Igor Trajkovski
Three more: This looks "Novecento" to me. Bertolucci/Storaro.
Premium Member Miguel Angel Posted April 30, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 30, 2017 Yes, "Amistad" for the first one. I guess that shot could be from "Whiplash" since the director and his new DP both won Oscars for "La La Land"... That was a really good guess, however, it is not Whiplash. The movie is from 2010. The frame below is the second sequence and it pans to a third shot which is the last one. Any clues for your other shots? :D
