Look for an EIKI SSL-2. (the SSL-0 and SSL-1 do optical only). Try emailing Richard Patchett, his site is at http://www.rcsclassic16mm.com/projectors.htm. I think the site might not be up to date, but he's a very qualified projector specialist. If he doesn't have an SSL-2 he might help you find someone who has.

Do you have magnetic sound films like Scopitones? If not, the magnetic track feature might not be needed.

I forgot to mention that Mike Williamson is trying to sell his ELMO Xenon CX-350 which is also both optical and magnetic, but he wants $1500.

The Elmo 16-CL ETC 24 is cheaper.

Edit: There's one on eBay right now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Elmo-16-CL-ETC-24-Projector-With-Optical-and-Magnetic-Sound-With-Cover-MINT-/322601663667

Hi Luigi,

as you are from Italy, it should be wise to find something within the EU.

There are lots of Bauer P8 on ebay in Germany.

P8L is for optical sound only.

P8TS is for optical and magnetic sound.

There is also a M-version for mag. sound recording.

You can find them from 150 up to 500 Euro.

200 should be reasonable.

Since 25 years I have a P8TS for R16 with magn. sound and also an old Bauer P5, around 50 years old, modernized and converted to S-16 with synchronized CD sound, both of them running forever with no troubles.

Good luck,

Volker

Thank you, boys, it's true, I think it's best buy in Europe, the weight of a projector is too much for intercontinental mail.

I'm looking for a model that also has the recording function (I have and old striped 16mm films, not Scopitones), just like the Bauer P* "M" version. They are rarer, but I hope to find them.
Does anyone know the Fumeo series? He knows if there are any with optical/magnetic sound and magnetic rec option?
