What needs to be done to a 400 ft Bolex mag  to make it super 16 compliant ???

My understanding was the rollers needed to be machined to avoid scratching the film.  There may be other things as well.

I have heard, was it from Les Bosher?, that the modification was unnecessary but I've no first experience.

Jean-Louis Seguin did or maybe still does S16 Bolex mag conversions, he would know exactly what needs to be done. PM or email him about it.

Hi, I converted my Bolex EL to super16 with Les Bosher last year. The magazines I have were not converted though, has anyone got experience with shooting super16 with non modified 400ft mags? I'd love to know if it works okay or if the mod is definitely necessary.

See the section about Modification of the 400 foot magazine where Bolex said, "To avoid scratches and pressure marks on the film, the entry funnel of the 400 foot magazine has to be modified."
