  1. Anybody have any idea of what the sharpness is like of of these various peices of glass...? Does everything go soft?
  2. I had a bolex converted to super16, which is really the only worthwhile conversion, by an arriflex tech. He made the point that the registration specs for the bolex are the same as the arri. If you use the preset primes I think the images youll get will blow your mind. Its not worth going from super16 to ultra16 unless you have to.
  3. I wonder how sharp the images are. Im thinking Id like to experiment with the stereo and the anomorphot if I can find them affordably.
  4. does anybody have one, use one, know how they work? I think they are red-green. Been wondering if they might be converted to polarized.
  5. I started with video and moved to film. You really do get what you pay for. I transfer to vudei these days but have to admit that Ektachrome exposed correctly looks amazing through a projector. be carefull, projectors can ruin your film. Depending on what you want to do, you will likely prefer negative if you shoot for video and shooting at 30fps can make an even more gorgeous and image.
  6. You arent the only one. I put a post up and haven't had much of a reply. One was sold from under me.
  7. I did offer to buy the 17mm prime but was offered it at a crazy price. if anybody is wanting this package let me know, Id be interested in the prime only.
  8. what are people paying for these conversions?
  9. anybody know if there were any lenses that were made for use on the eyemo were any good or not? If there were I would be interested in finding some and using them on other cameras. I know there were a few makes etc but Im wondering if they would produce nice images on film.
  10. that depends on the focal lengths. if say he uses a set like 8mm, 16mm, 25mm he will have kick ass images that fit the format. most people use old average glass, usually zooms, thinking its the best thing since sliced bread.
  11. you are so lucky i would have killed to get the stuff
  12. cool that it covers 35mm. anybody know if its very sharp? ideally I would like to have a set of 35mm covering lenses so I can use them for super16 as well unless the image will look like vaseline was smeared on the lens...
  13. thanks for the reply. i appreciate opinions always. have you shot it wide open?
  14. I have one of these c mount lenses and was wondering if anybody had any experience with them. angenieux have that reputation for being soft and wondered what they were like wide open as well as f4 or so. any thoughts on a schneider vs angenieux prime sharpness comparison?
  15. Id like to know this as well, had a chance to have a set for about a hundred bucks although I doubt they even come close to the newest sitars.
  16. if you want to maintain the best possible image then you will want to look into ultra high quality mirrors. not all mirrors are made alike.
  17. hey people I know there are a bunch of online depth of field simulators to give a rough image for dof. has anybody found one that simulates with a super8 sized camera chip to do tests with?
  18. i know of a s16 converted fumeo projector that was used for 25fps telecine. i dont think it had a lens on it. if there is a worry the stock lens wont work then im sure a 35mm slide projector could be adapted
  19. you always want to have the option of changing lenses.
  20. well I wouldnt say nonsense but when I hear multi format, no perfed film, 90 degree flips them Im thinking I see more reality over in the 2012 forums and I go over there for a good laugh.
  21. I saw it on the filmshooting.com website a couple of years ago but my search skills are crap. Its not the same as calling, you actually have to show up apparently. I can see shipping costs and sales staff costs gone so perhaps thats how they justify the lower cost. Either way I so want the details.
  22. Hey folks, I used to have a list of Kodak warehouse addresses and numbers across north america, like all 4 of them or so. apparently if you show up in person you pay half the cost you normally would for stock. I lost the info......anybody have addresses and numbers?
