  1. Yes if you don't mind macro only or a x 1.4 teleconverter.

  3. Hi, The new Leica range do NOT cover FF35mm. Optically an 18mm f1.4 would not be possible in that format which explains why the wide Zeiss CP's are very slow. Stephen
  4. If breathing bothers you yes, but 30 years ago motion picture lenses breathed as do most 2/3 ENG lenses today.
  5. Hi Stuart, IMHO they are louder than a 2C.
  6. The focal length of a lens never changes regardless of what camera you put it on. Lenses designed for S16 will generally not cover a S35mm frame. Lenses designed for S35 will cover S16 but you will not have any wide angle lenses in a standard set.
  7. Hi John, I would expect one dollar to buy one Euro or better in the next 12 months.
  8. Interestingly I worked for free on a production for a very good client (20 days + a year full commercial rates) & have only done 1 paid day (with a RED) since then, thats in over 2 years now. Once they discovered people will work for free & will also throw in a 5D, there is little point in paying people.
  9. Hi, I think the euro has a long way to fall, the price of a product has very little to do with the cost of it's components so I don't expect any price changes. Stephen
  10. Hi, I shot with a Weisscam HS2 last week, probably the first time I have ever shot on digital & felt the project benefited by doing so! I was in a studio so could control the lighting. We used the HD workflow rather than RAW (as recommended by Weisscam), output was recorded to highly compressed HDCAM, the producer owned a machine! A search may find my opinion on the Phantom which I tested 2 years ago, & Mitch's comments on my experience. Stephen
  11. It's funny how the latest Revolution is a non topic over there. You can only describe other cameras that are more expensive & inferior in their opinion. It's interesting how bringing a camera to market without a big fuss sells can sell 5000 a week, whereas the hyped 3K for 3K camera still is not available.
  12. Thirded, as Phil (or anybody with an opinion) will get marked down by RED fanboys who don't know better.
  13. Hi, The Scarlet 2/3 lenses do not exist as yet so they can't even be tested. When they are released they 'MAY' work well enough, The Panasonic is a 3 chip camera, the lenses ideally would focus the light on 3 different planes for R/G/B. How much this will be a problem I don't know as many S16 lenses are not that different to their 2/3" brothers. Stephen
  14. Hi Tim, There is a problem with subscriptions, Current Package: Sustaining Membership - Lifetime Purchased With: Paypal Paid Until: 13 Dec 1901 You have paid until 13 Dec 1901. No automatic renewal will be performed. Best Stephen
  15. Producer for TopGear, Technologist, Technical Operators as well as website developement. I never saw one for "office Juniors" unless thats a Producer on TopGear, not all the are in London which is why you may be turning up your nose.
  16. The BBC has way more than 3 full time paid jobs on Mandy right now, it's not unusual they always do.
  17. Reveloutions never go quite the way people expect, so this years cool is the 7D or the even cheaper 550D.
  18. Hi Phil, If you did that shooting Red, F35 & 35mm film scanned to 4k what would you expect to see resoloution wise fron the 3? Thanks Stephen
  19. The 435/ Arri 3 are fairly noisy MOS camera, if you intend to record sound you should use another camera.
  20. Obviousely there are no official RED Classes then! What do you want to learn? How to light or how the camera works?
  21. No difference in quality of pictures, it's the film & lenses that count. 435 does 150 fps v Arri III's 130 fps. I often shoot on Mitchells from the 1940's & earlier on motion control rigs, nobody ever made a steadier camera. Production ran from about 1920-1965!
  22. What did your lightmeter say the stop should be? I would have expoed that scene about T5.6-8 (T2.8-4 +ND 0.6 in reality) asuming 24 fps 180 shutter.
