  1. My understanding is that all canon 8-64 lenses are the same. Except they changed their colour from black finish to dark grey finish...and there was no change mechanically or optically.
  2. les bosher is your man for the eclair npr http://www.lesbosher.co.uk/
  3. It may be possible for Les Bosher to make a new hard front for the 35111 to accept Nikon lenses...
  4. Hi Miguel, I like your film. Can I ask what was your process for the strobing shots?
  5. BLs were used hand held alot of the time.
  6. As long as the mount on the camera matches the rokinon mount and the coverage is the same as 35mm...aps-c should cover S35? https://matthewduclos.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/are-rokinon-primes-right-for-you/
  7. Hi, I've talked with Les Bosher about this. he can convert a BL4 hard front to Nikon, you would need to send the camera to him. The best solution he suggested was to send the camera to him, he would convert the hard front to a new mount that would accept the Nikon mount but still be able to easily ( in the field) convert back to PL mount. This would involve making a new stainless steel ring ,,,one for the nikon mount and one for the PL....which would drop into the newly engineered original front mount. Effectively making a new universal mount. Maybe other lenses could be used this way? (not sure) I've never seen one for sale.
  8. Plus stills zoom lenses generally don't hold focus on zooming in or out.

  10. Most older cameras...arri 2C, eclairs and aatons were/are taped as a belt and braces approach to light leaks.
  11. For what it's worth...the reason an Aaton 16mm digital magazine was never developed was because the Aaton mag 'throat' is too narrow to accomodate an 'off the shelf' chip. A special chip would have to be developed to fit ...all chips are made mounted to circuit boards and its this extra width that limits mounting options...I think things have moved on now and nobody would be willing to re-develop such a chip due to the massive costs involved. Not sure if that helps you...

    This is a great idea!
  13. Quite a few contax lenses have been converted to Aaton mount.
  14. Many thanks. It's a standard SI2K camera head which plays straight into a macmini server model...these have 2 hard drives ( I've fitted ssd drives ) so one hard drive holds the operating system ( apple bootcamp running windows XP...needed for the SI2K software ) and the other hard drive is for the footage. It all works on 12 volt. Hdmi cables link to the 7 inch touch screen and miniHD evf. The touch screen is used for the camera interface. I'm in the process of developing a blackberry phone style finger joystick 'mouse' to fit on the handgrips so the interface can be managed through the evf aswell...this will make operating even easier in low light. The camera head can be removed very quickly for remote operation on long cables . All of my S16 lenses fit...which is one reason I went for the SI2K....I also think that the results are as 'film like' as any digital camera out there. There are a few things to tidy up ...like wiring, but I'm very pleased with the result...it does feel like an aaton on the shoulder.
  15. Hi, This is my SI2K camera which I finished last year, it runs with a macmini and I designed it as close as I could on aaton ergonomics.
  16. Does anyone have any Arri BL4 spare parts? I need a hard front for PL, BNCR or Nikon if possible.
  17. Does anyone have any information on a nikon hard front for a BL4...or have one for sale? many thanks.
  18. Sorry I think thats a spray too...have you tried contacting Slick?
  19. http://www.maxxtech.eu/Slick-50-One-Grease-Mehrzweckfett-400g.html is this what you need? seems to be a German website.
  20. Hi Joe, I dont know if you got your problem sorted , but I have an eyepiece for sale on ebay at the moment... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151553547866?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  21. I've uploaded these photos for people interested in the NPR. Although I've had it for years I've never seen another one like it. Presumably built in the 1970s (?)...provides a monochrome image.
