Arri Barndoors on Moles
Edward Lawrence Conley III replied to Carlos Rojas's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
for what they cost new, you might be better just buying complete used 1k's with Barndoors. But you can try this company http://www.maccam.tv/product/200-watt-juniorled-fresnel/9-barndoor-4-way-fjunior-led/ -
Mole still rents them. Assuming this is what you want DecaPod 2,250 Watt, 30 Light • 30 Globes, (75 watts per Globe) • Available in Wide (36°) or Narrow (12°) (Specify globe when ordering) • Three Circuits • 2,250 Watts @ 3100° Kelvin • 120 Volt A.C. or D.C. @ 18 Amps • House Connector • Dimmable • Supplied with Pod Holder • Size: 42" High x 4.5" Wide • Weight: 9 lbs. http://mole.com/media/images/catalogs/pdfs/rental/rent_cat.pdf

Our power isn't quite as simple :) Mostly 120v/240v ( we do use higher voltages but for basics it is 120v/240v. Single Phase 4-wire Line 1-120v Line 2- 120v Neutral Ground 120v Loads will use Line 1, Neutral, Ground or Line 2, Neutral, Ground 240v loads will use Line 1, Line 2, Ground and to make it more confusing once we go to 3-phase it is generally 120v/208v on generators. Line 1-120v Line 2-120v Line 3-120v Neutral Ground 120v Loads: any Line, Neutral, Ground 240v loads will be fed 208v Line to line voltage is 208v ( The unusual value of 208V derives from 120V multiplied by sqrt(3).) make any sense ? :)

FABRIC SALE
Edward Lawrence Conley III replied to Edward Lawrence Conley III's topic in Grip & Rigging
I believe so- cash only sales. -
150' is pretty good distance for little 12g extension cords, worse if you use a 14g ext cord. The best way to utilize this generator would be to wire up a 14-50 plug that feeds out to a pigtail with 5-15 connectors- assuming your lights are 2k and smaller. This would make it easier to balance out the load on the genset. The manual doesn't have a diagram to indicate which outlets are on the which windings. http://www.northerntool.com/images/downloads/manuals/165923.pdf You could use the 2- 120v Duplex receptacles- 20amps each- NOTE- the 20amps is for the 2 on the left and 20amps for the 2 on the right. NOT 20amps for each one. Then get a pigtail for the 30amp 120v receptacle. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MGJ2F4/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_3?pf_rd_p=1944687582&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00BHGXYRC&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1WTP5ADTG8ZKD7XKTAW0

It really depends on how big your rental company is. Even off the shelf programs may not be worth it. -
Norms Studio Equipment Quality
Edward Lawrence Conley III replied to Marius Klovning's topic in Grip & Rigging
The quality is the same- they were never poor in quality but their design was a little off on some of the stands. Their combos, rollers and such just seem to have a better feel now. -

Very few people need the parallel capabilities of 2 Honda 6500/7000watt gensets. And as Guy pointed out Honda hasn't even released the special receptacle kits like they have for the small generators. I can't see someone outside of Motion Picture industry or a very specialized need for this option- general power needs can be handled by one 12,000watt genset for construction jobs. Even in those situations where more power is need they pick up a small Tow plant for the site and run out a Spider box.

small led spotlight

Possible one of those small LED flashlights that are on key chains. http://www.pens.com/site/products/LAK?promo=FRSHS&product_id=LAK&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cse&cvosrc=cse.google.%7Bkeyword%7D&utm_campaign=%7B_campaign%7D&utm_adgroup=%7B_group%7D&promo=&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_campaign=**Shopping+-+Product+Listing+Ads*&utm_adgroup=**Shopping+-+Product+Listing+Ads*+ad+group&cvosrc=ppc.google.&cvo_campaign=**Shopping+-+Product+Listing+Ads*&cvo_crid=64769492821&matchtype=&mkwid=s_dc%7Cpcrid%7C64769492821%7Cpkw%7C%7Cpmt%7C&gclid=CjwKEAjwkK6wBRCcoK_tiOT-zFASJAC7RAriwIrQ2taX_ENSr49-3jzpKssAbirusU0KbUIjnqM_5BoC83Pw_wcB -
NO- and please do not try to ever use 2 generators to feed power like this. Honda Inverter generators can be paralleled BUT you don't pull power from each separate generator. You use one receptacle on either generator or an Extra receptacle that comes in a kit that allows for more power through one receptacle. In Montreal are your 4k's 240v? The Honda 6500 watt generators are 120v/240v generators. If your 4k's are the same as here with the 120v 60amp bates connectors then you'll need a generator that has been modified with a female bates connector on it.

Freya's Fantasy Grip Truck
Edward Lawrence Conley III replied to Freya Black's topic in Grip & Rigging
Tennis balls to put on the feet of stands so they don't mark up floors. Just cut a slit in the tennis ball, slip over feet. Bicycle pump: to air up the pneumatic tires on carts- that will be holding yer grip stuff. Show Card: Poster board material- either Black/White, Hard silver/White, Soft Silver/White. Various bits o' wood: used for anything that needs it :) level a stand, put under a clamp to make the surface area bigger, screw a baby wall plate to it, etc. etc. -
