My interest in the super 8 is the real film texture, to make a bad imitation prefer my smaller Iphone.

To develop in Europe, Andec and Super8nl are the way to go, serious and fast.

Hi Matthew, I scan in Ochoypico, 1080p 10bits and then apply a light cleaning with Neatvideo, this is because the compression to Vimeo does not handle well the grain. Then, apply some unsharp mask. For color, rgb curves with PremierPro. Keil, to develop Vision3 in Europe, i think the best is Andec in Berlin, to scan Ochoypico in Madrid.

I think I disagree with this, according to my tests the super 8 with a Vision 3 you can get a good scan and good lens on the camera, to close 720p. I scan 1080p 10bits then reduce it to 720 and looks fine. Anything that goes higher than this do not see sense, all you get is higher file sizes. For instance, a roll of 15 meters 1080p 10bits scanning Ochoypico occupies 34 gigabytes.

The transfer gives me Ochoypico is a 10 bits very flat file, after I corrected the post through RGB curves. It has some grain reduction, but less than at other times. If you download the .mov can see some grain.

Another shot fashion with Bealieu 4008 and Vision3 50d, the development Andec (quite dirty) and scanning, Ochoypico.

Hi Mickey, I have two ZM4008 II and I think are the best cameras s8 if you want a little complicate life ... The picture can offer, is the best in s8 but require some maintenance. If you live in Europe, you can send Microdelta in Spain, this has fixed my two Beaulieu and work great, plus it's serious and good price.

I write this thread to encourage people to think s8 scan quality is difficult. Not true, you can do and at a reduced cost if you have the necessary tools. Here I show two examples scanned it myself with a Panasonic GH2 and a projector Bauer to 16.6fps. After I applied the wonderful french software, P10, to remove excess frames and image enhancement.

I was referring mainly to a superior emulsion as Vision3, I think this camera is what makes sense of it.

Hi Andries, your last question for me is the most important in this case.

Many people want to look s8 feature of low quality and defects, if you want your movie s8 look good, with shneider ZM2 Beaulieu 6-66, surely need a refresher, but if you know what you do is the best there is.
