  1. I believe you mean: http://www.flickr.com/photos/68411920@N00/ Nice shots.
  2. I recently purchased the Canon 400D, Canon has since released the 450D, the Pentax K10D and K20D are very good, and of course, there's Nikon. ;) All of these DSLR's are in a comparable price range and are all very good. Any one of these would satisfy your needs, it would just boil down to you picking the one you like best.
  3. Yet another pointless thread started in the name of ending the discussion, which does absolutely nothing except prolong it! Look, if you don't like the way the discussion is going on, refrain from joining in. If and when you get the opportunity to shoot with the camera, assess it yourself, based on your budget, needs and work flow. That's all that matters really. Everyone will have an opinion, but that only matters if you chose to listen to them.
  4. There's no real reason to increase your base rate simply because of a change in geographical location. The work you're doing is still the same. It is fair however to pass on additional expenses brought on by the fact that you're shooting out of your home area... cost of traveling, cost of meals & accommodation etc..
  5. Hey, congrats on getting so far! I'll be keeping an eye out for it when it shows up on DVD.. but with the way things are here in Fiji, it'll be coming out on pirated releases long before the official release. :(

    Red

Keep reading... I think you'll find it's not the camera itself, that people object to, it's been some of the RED marketing strategies that have rubbed people the wrong way. But really, it shouldn't matter to you what other people think. Assess the camera based on your budget, workflow and requirements, and decide for yourself.
  7. You're not planning on bringing your gun are you? ;)
  8. Ceelite and Flatlite are the same thing, available commercially in various sizes. It is designed to be used for signage or mood/effect lighting.. so the output isn't very high. But it is essentially what you are asking for. http://www.ceelite.com/ http://www.flatlite.com/ And just a heads-up, the forum rules require that you use a full first and second name.
  9. Man, I start feeling cold when the temperature drops below 20 (Celsius).. I'd freeze to death over there long before any heart attack could get me! :D
  10. I have no idea if it's a trend... but I dive.
  11. Haha! Phil, we have it all here; lush tropical vegetation, constant rain, beating tropical sun, high tropical humidity, huge tropical mosquitoes, tropical coup-mongering military men... yeah, paradise! ;)
  12. I drive a 1990 Toyota Starlet, with a 1E engine - 999cc. It's so simple I can do most of the mechanical work myself. :)
  13. The F-stop is a purely mathematical construct. The T-stop is that same mathematical ratio, adjusted to reflect the actual amount of light being transmitted. So for lighting purposes, just use them as the same as each other. The only time you actually need to think specifically about the F-stop is if you are trying to do something specific with the depth of field.
  14. You're way out of line here mate. Those are the forum rules and David, as a moderator, is simply reminding people of those rules. It'd be nice if he didn't have to, but when you get as many people not bothering to read the rules as we get here, someone has to step in and remind people. If you'd bothered to look, you'd have seen that David does a lot more than remind people to register properly. You owe him an apology.
  15. Any chance you have some set photos and / or framegrabs to show?
  16. I personally believe a moderator should never re-write a contribution without signing the re-write themselves and explaining why it was necessary.
  17. Pity, as your little project has interesting potential I think.
  18. So why are you still arguing with him? If you're convinced, then that's all you need to worry about. The rest of us will make up our own minds, thank you very much.
  19. Bring back the Richard Boddington forum.
  20. Since we're sharing... http://www.flickr.com/photos/dsheehy Feel free to comment.
  21. The only issue I could see with that is the fact that the phosphors in a white LED degrade eventually.
  22. The search function is really quite useful. ;) http://www.cinematography.com/forum2004/in...st&p=117408
  23. My favourite, which I didn't see, only heard described, is the one penned on the side of the stall. Upon leaning down to read it you discover; "You are now at a 45 degree angle"
  24. Is it legal to make an add-on for your car like that? Looks rather unsafe to me. Mind you, I think it's an interesting idea to raise awareness, but still...
