Apparently, back in the day, kids would dress up in Halloween costumes and present themselves at houses for pennies or treats at Thanksgiving. I have a photo of a group of 'maskers' awkwardly diving for pennies. I didn't include it in this collection as the photo was a crapper, but did include a few of the better maskers glass plate photos from the L.O.C collection. Balance of photos other than maskers are from my archive. Someone on a photo forum said they didn't see any value in street photography. Well, here you have it. Without an ancient street photog...maskers may have been lost to history. The copies of the glass plate maskers I got from the L.O.C. are much lower quality than the same photos shown in the links below. The images the L.O.C. offered were hi-res TIFF files but were of low image quality. The L.O.C. must keep a stash of better versions than what they offer for download to the general public. These sources have much better versions, albeit lower res, than what I could find from the L.O.C. And I even did some post processing on my versions as they were even lower quality than what I've shown. That is some interesting historical footage.

Looked at film at highest res on YT. Looked pretty good, especially since it was done with a relatively inexpensive scanner. Nice to see sharp grain in your scans. Some of the commercial scans I see have blurry grain. Looks like they don't have the film in focus. They must just slap on the reel and hit record.

Don't know if you will ever need some fake sperm for a film, but condensed sweetened milk works good. What is shown is refrigerated. If you want it thinner, use it unrefrigerated.

I don't care about that, as long as they are affordable, reliable and produce decent scans.

BH used to have a super 8 scanner that looked like a movie projector. It was about $1200. It had good reviews, but they don't seem to sell it any longer. The movie film scanner options are terrible for anyone that is on a budget. Really sad industry has not filled this niche.

I scanned this with a Wolverine. nsfw Too low Q for me. Plus it broke after 20 something reels. Then it ate up an important film. Once it starts to squeal, stop scanning or you risk getting your film ruined. If it was higher Q and lasted 20+ reels, then it could work even as a disposable and still be economically feasible versus paying a lot of $ to get the film scanned.
