How to attach titan tubes to tile walls
john a jadkowski replied to Gerrit Fahr's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
they make steel plates that are backed with adhesive that I've used in a similar scenario. I stick the metal plates to the wall then just use a magnet clip to attach the tube. Nice and low profile. Similar to these https://usmagnetix.com/product-category/steel-plates/ -

Im curious about the cooke, how would you compare its sharpness to a canon or zeiss zoom? how is the breathing? I was also told that the cooke has superb lowlight performance, better than other zooms with faster tstops, did you experience this effect?

shooting daylight stock with tungsten
john a jadkowski replied to john a jadkowski's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
ahh wow. That's a really interesting idea, wish I'd thought of it on my own! That actually works extremely well with the story which is about an unassuming couple being assimilated into the restaurant. Thank you David. To the other replies I've used 80 and 85 correction filters and haven't found the results to be worth the light loss, at least for the projects Ive shot with them, much rather use uncorrected stocks and lean into their natural qualities. That being said I haven't heard of the 80D before, that could be an interesting middle ground thank you. I own the camera gear and provide it to low budget stuff like this for free so I like to do as much analog experimentation as I can (as long as it fits the story anyways) hence why im considering doing something funky like this. Thank you all for the replies! -
Im in prepro for a narrative short set in a surreal restaurant environment and was toying around with the idea of shooting it on daylight stock. Its all night interiors so we'll be using almost exclusively warm or tungsten sources. Only problem is we don't have the budget to shoot a test and im not sure what shooting with tungsten light will look like on 250d vision 3. Does anyone here have any stills or clips showing examples of this? I know the film goes yellow but im curious how correctable it is or if it will add an interesting, or off putting character to skin tone.

I'm looking to get a video tap installed in my SR ii and I've been looking at the Visual Products HD tap. I'm curious how people feel about it, there's no customer reviews so if you have this for your camera or have used it I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Also if you know of another company that does video tap installations that you prefer I'd love to hear it. Here's a link to the tap I'm looking at: http://www.visualproducts.com/storeProductDetail02.asp?productID=829&Cat=3&Cat2=46
